where you can do that which you can not stand not doing

Great lens 👏👏👏

That sounds like a beautiful expression of passion and purpose!

Finding a place where you can truly pursue what you love is essential for fulfillment in life.

Definitely

I got tired of the bs I had to deal with in the states and decided to try something new. Not much of a choice though, wife is Japanese so it made sense to try Japan.

Awesome country. I lived in Singapore for 4.5 years and loved Asia. Japan was one of the best places to visit for sure. Speak Japanese?

criteria, then vibe.

or divine leading.

Divine guidance is a part of it for sure

I think what’s hard is knowing how hard to lean into that

Can you really trust that?

Only time will tell!

It’s so hard dude, I’ve been struggling with this lately as well.

We've been struggling with this--for the last 3 years we could live "anywhere we want in the US" but we haven't known what we want. Now there's a possibility of a job in a particular location, so giving that serious consideration. But absent a specific job....no idea and struggle with the same.

But is a job the right reason to go somewhere?

Good question....It is a city that's on our list of places we'd enjoy living, so there's that, too. But it's a fair point--there are plenty of places I would not go, so I never apply to jobs there.

I feel it too

So many things to consider

Deciding where to live often comes down to a mix of personal preferences and practical considerations.

I think about factors like job opportunities, cost of living, climate, and community.

It’s also important to consider what kind of lifestyle I want—whether I prefer urban energy or a quieter, more rural setting.

How about you?

All of those metrics have been used in the past. But I think some radical new metrics are coming into play

- weather

- education

- investment opportunities

- language

- culture

But new ones

- property rights

- freedom of speech

- exit strategy

- bitcoin stance

- tax

Australia is where I am now, but does this federation based system really cut the mustard long term?

A new impact: Be the change.

It's a lot of fun.

These new criteria are relevant!

I think it would be useful to explore countries with greater individual freedoms and a more favorable tax framework.

Perhaps consider destinations like Switzerland or Singapore, which excel in these areas.

What do you think?

Take a look at my profile and the first post. You might want to give the collection a push.

👍

Can you share the link with me? I can’t find it

Good morning, mate. I hope you're wide awake.

Here's the link.

proximity to waffle house, usually

Waffles are key

For starters, make a list of all areas you don't want to live in and try to explain why.

That’s a good idea. What you don’t want

I didn't decide, I was born here. I love where I'm from, but every once in a while, I travel when I want a change of scenery.

For us as a married couple there are so many factors to consider: education for our kids or even for us, internet speed, infrastructure (public transport or everything by car?), culture (concerts, cinema, theatre, art exhibitions), music scene, nature nearby (ocean, mountains, lake?).

Another important thing for us is to be close to one part of our family - we are not from the same country so our parents or siblings live in different countries. This lowers the possibilities of where to live a lot, but we are always looking for something new and at some time want to spend six months here and maybe six months there.

It is really fluid for us 💜

I am originally from the UK, and wife is aussie, so very much feel that vibe as with family in 2 places

Thanks for sharing

Bro, you are more than welcome! We are always on the lookout 👀 for a solution on this topic.

We actually were thinking about Australia 🇦🇺 too, but it is just too far from both families.

Haha. I can confirm that Australia is a long way from basically anywhere!

Such a pitty 💔

Self-custody the education! That solves that part 😁

IMO Depends completely on the phase of life you’re in.. young, single, w cash to spend? Definitely High energy city where cross points exist, opportunies and network.

Mid life, married with kids? Go Where support base is including family to help, close friends and good vibrations.

The cycle of life you’re at, or about to be at, is a huge factor. Totally agree

I think for most people circumstances decide for you.

I'd say depends on:

1.) needs

2.) budget

3.) why

4.) desires

5.) future plans

6.) people you want to be around with in your nxt place

A cross between places WW3 won’t break out, Bitcoin friendliness, low tax regimes and culturally beautiful places, ideally on or near the Ocean.

South of the equator looks like it has the most options for these.

But Russia and China are already very active in Africa...
