They were probably doing it the whole time. Passing a law to publicly disclose what they were doing is probably because they want to enact fines and legal consequences to it now.
I try and be vigilant against scammers, false advertising, price gouging and whatever else I can do to avoid getting ripped off in this day and age then once a year I have to be reminded that the government is literally stealing my money for their own scams which I do not agree with in the slightest.

Those likeminded people are the same technical innovators that built and worked on the current social and technical systems for the last few decades so we have a monopoly on the knowledge to build a better future. That knowledge is not taught in schools anymore, they are mostly only taught how to utilize existing systems (if anything at all).
The systems the globalist oligarchs want to control and use to manipulate society are already becoming old technology that is losing its allure. Those self appointed rulers donโt innovate, they arenโt very technically proficient, and they certainly arenโt creative so we are already outmaneuvering them.
The internet is not a few tech companies and websites centrally controlled. Anyone with a basic understanding of networking and internet history knows this.
We are the resistance. The technical hurdles for Nostr are a heathy and low barrier against bots and npcโs and the fact that we canโt edit, delete, or remove posts is incentive to think before you speak and ties up the censorship regime.
People in massive social media platforms are herded around for a reason. Forcing people to think and be technically proficient is a path for more heathy online systems.
There exists a place for humans to connect without algorithmic intervention or interference on Nostr. That potential for gaining a real space where people can talk freely that canโt be toggled on (featured traffic for certain narratives) or off (shadow banned and deranked) is going to be an expanding feature as censorship continues to rise through the other legacy social media platforms.
Sure the reach takes longer and is harder to gain but itโs more authentic and the community is real.
