This sounds like the best approach..the future oriented, privacy and freedom conscious people are and will be rare. Masses will not follow and we have to accept it..and stop praying for mass adoption. But WE SHOULD NOT STOP BUILDING AND MOVING FORWARD!!

But it's a social app, unlike a healthy meal, a social app is not useful if you're the only user.

We are the resistance. The technical hurdles for Nostr are a heathy and low barrier against bots and npc’s and the fact that we can’t edit, delete, or remove posts is incentive to think before you speak and ties up the censorship regime.
People in massive social media platforms are herded around for a reason. Forcing people to think and be technically proficient is a path for more heathy online systems.

I spoke to a friend about Nostr. Apparently there are alot of people who actually use throwaway accounts on reddit to share personal information. Like the AITA and such.
I think a good feature that I would welcome is key management. Like an HD wallet. Many keys, one keyring, associated to like a tapsigner or something.
A Reddit replacement for personally sensitive information would actually be see some value in some of the de-facto anonymity of nostr. Just a 🤔🤔🤔
Fundamentally the “problem” with nostr is that it’s a Twitter clone.
Why would a normie move from twitter to nostr? We did because we care about freedom of speech. The network effects matter more to them.
If we want to move the world off twitter, we have to design something different and better where they spend more time.
The alternative is to just build stuff for ourselves without caring whether other people use it.

The only thing that will get people’s attention is having a large set of solid apps that are fun, where you can easily switch between securely, and all have zap integration. That’s the world I want to live in. We’re not even close to that yet. We have a few almost usable apps.

Yeah I don’t think people don’t care but they don’t want it to be a ton of work and friction and there has to be appeal beyond just decentralization. Dumb sounding stuff like stickers, skins, etc rakes in Fortnite countless $ and it’s totally silly and not even a core function of playing their game.
