Bots and spammers will always be an uphill battle, for every single platform. Now, there's nothing stopping a client from absolutely run advertisements on their website or inside their app. I'm sure we'll see this happen at some point. Client developers like money too. They could also accept payments from users. But the beauty is, if users don't like what they're doing or how they're handling it, they'll go elsewhere!
turns out it was a bot: https://mj12bot.com/
they did try to read robots.txt, which I didn't have. that's fixed now.
strange behavior though, they were walking through events ids in lexical order calling the thread endpoint nostr.io/t/
yeah, that would definitely cause a performance issue. glad you got it fixed.
hmm does this thing respond every time someone says bot?
25 year old CDs are the next bitcoin. you heard it here first.
You must show Proof-of-CD to gain access.
Thanks for the feedback on NostrPlebs.com. Not everyone wants to be a "pleb" 🤯 and the "purple" pricing is a bit too much. New domains are coming to NostrPlebs.com for your NIP-05 identity and your Lightning payment address.
*Coming soon... Directory, Relay access, Email.*
jam seems like a really great product. i've been playing around with it the past week.
could be related to the spam in global and the general slowdown of clients when this started happening?

You’ll have to convert the 3pin to 2pin
can confirm that these are great fan replacements.
centralized platforms could integrate. it would just be their own corner of nostr. it would be their own clients and their own relays.
gm
I just went to check nostr.io/stats and I'm getting a 502 #[0]?
It chugs a lot of CPU that's for sure.
well, there's a good chance that you could have a fan that needs replacement. these things are 5+ years old. And most of them have been through hell. I've replaced some fans in mine.
did you take it apart and clean it all out?
I absolutely do this.
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
GM nostr! You're the first thing I check in the morning. I haven't checked the price of Bitcoin almost two weeks. I rarely check Twitter. I just do not care. It's nostr or nothing.
iris.to has ethereum integration. beware.
I am guessing you have a relay that isn't playing nicely. Try to add more relays if you haven't already. You can also visit #[1] and check out the people that they're following. It can help you find people pretty easily. And our directory of people will be done soon.
I did not review the code either, but this is how I believe it works. Both keys are stored in local browser storage unless you use a signing extension, then only the public key is stored there.
