The purple pill helps the orange pill go down. Developer Relations at Soapbox. ๐Ÿชบ NostrNests.com ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ YakBak.app ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Zappix.app ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Plektos.app ๐ŸŽถ ZapTrax.app ๐Ÿ“ˆ Zaplytics.app ๐ŸŽง Podstr.org

i think that's actually what he should do. that's how most things get built around here. build a custom NIP and BUD for it if need be and make it work. work with Primal, they have a good relationship and working partnership on mirroring already. it's in Primal's best interest to do this too so that they can support creators. i think it's solvable if you want to solve it.

i laughed when she mentioned shakespeare, soapbox, and i saw my face on the video.

if she cared enough to rant for 14 minutes about things im building and working on, then ill take that as a win. it's hilarious. it has 87K views. nostr's DAU is 1/4 of that.

perhaps. the great nostr:npub1nyrfgkqutqfyfzwskzxl5nf2w536wya3d2pf5z7pvxkc90laey2sfclzp9 has said that nostr is a 10 year project. i'd like to think he's wrong here, but if he isn't, that means we are only about half way there if you count from the original whitepaper. i think divine is going to light a fire under all of our asses and there's nothing like an emergency to get our devs building.

i remember arguing about 50MB profile pictures literally 3 years ago after i had used 10GB of mobile data the first 5 days of january 2023. 3 years later, it's somewhat of an issue. people don't like image proxy caches or thing that is centralizing so the solution there would be to have clients not display profile pictures over a certain size and clients optimizing media before uploading like Amethyst does.

because people take the easy way out and don't focus on the last 10%. the last 10% is the hardest. it's how you gain and retain customers.

i understand all of the work you've done and i greatly appreciate you Fishcake. however, i don't think your customer wants to hear that it just won't work. there has to be something that can be done to make this easier for people.

1. User selects video in client

2. Client uploads to blossom server

3. Server returns: original hash immediately

4. User can publish note right away with original hash

5. Server transcodes in background

6. Later: client polls or server webhooks when derivatives ready

7. Client prompts user (or auto-signs if authorized) the derivative manifest

8. Manifest event published, linking original โ†’ derivatives

why wouldn't that work?

cool. i like pidgeon. thanks for the recommendation nostr:npub1cgcwm56v5hyrrzl5ty4vq4kdud63n5u4czgycdl2r3jshzk55ufqe52ndy!

pidgeon is a new nostr scheduling app for scheduling your kind:1 notes. i just tested it. it's unique in it's function, using DVMs to accomplish it's task. it's a very nerdy and technical solution and you don't need to read all about it if you don't want to do so. it just works!

yes, it's very cringe. i loled when i saw soapbox and shakespeare and my face in it.

all she did was build my rage bar and the jokes on her, i use my rage to build even harder.

Only a few clients haven't migrated to Blossom, so we have to figure out how to work in those contraints. You're the expert here... Could we add a BUD spec for derivate blobs? The user uploads, server transcodes, returns derivative hashes, user publishes the manifest.

oh i just used shipyard recently because someone asked me about it and i wanted to make sure it still worked before i recommended it. what doesn't work for you?

i mostly use non-shakesperae AI provders via OpenRouter and have not experienced this issue. this sounds like another issue. could you try starting a new chat? you can then click the build button up top in the toolbar as well.

i listen to your tunes all of the time :)
