What is Banksy's real name? We know his first name is Robbie, thanks to a recording of him correcting Robert to Robbie. But is his last name Del Naja or Hewlett or Buchanan. I'd go with Del Naja, myself. What's your guess?

nostr:npub12uc0aeyg6jnkh98tg924wckl7872k5rv8fqq0flzxq7qpgvhpcmsg25zv7 Ah, that's funny. Well, I know how old my daughter is and worked back from there. She's 30 in September so 20 seemed accurate. I had a good laugh from your post.

Hey Canadian peeps. Have you tried recently to sign in to the CRA 'My Account' site? I've had the spinning circle all morning. Down Detector is useless, says they haven't been able to connect for a year. If you see this, let me know. Thanks!

Yesterday was Simcoe Day in Ontario. John Graves Simcoe was the first lieutenant governor of Upper Canada. So, QOD: What do Simcoe, the American Revolution, Raynham Hall, Sally Townsend, Benedict Arnold, the Culper Spy Ring, Major André and two ghosts have in common? Read on. This is a true and fascinating story that should be a movie. (Simcoe's wife named my part of Toronto 'Scarborough' because our cliffs look like the other one.)

nostr:npub1g23rlyy0x2xdhtgfxja8uxtwvkqqtfhxxps8kn0pnutmu09mulcsupqxj3 I can’t stand “Sweet Caroline”. I might visit more often but for that song

nostr:npub164ylkzg4aq2vr29g7nch6npk6pk76uk8quah0n5q5utpssxa34usd9cvs5 Yesterday's game was the first time I'd seen/heard it there. Didn't know it was a tradition. It is a bit creepy, considering who he wrote it for, I guess.

This is a long read but it's also totally fascinating. If you have an interest in the Mafia and/or the Camorra, check this out. It's from 2012 but not much changes in Italy. Hell, they just arrested a fugitive in Corfu, a guy linked to the Camorra. How? His passion for football revealed his location. (Check The Guardian for details on that.) Here's the link to the 2012 story:

nostr:npub1g23rlyy0x2xdhtgfxja8uxtwvkqqtfhxxps8kn0pnutmu09mulcsupqxj3 no but i did spend the first 5 months of my life in an incubator in Spain.

nostr:npub1n4ywplvyqdx8yzfa2u9hat0g7tm5a6zjc87xj2cevc76c48ypklsgakmvk Laughing out loud at that one. Well, I'm glad you made it out of the incubator.

nostr:npub1kmdjy0jphtv378suu9mklkmhum4vtzzhv2zqka649xstcgu2766qkfu9wf I have no idea but a search for 'ham radio bug' turned up this: "A "bug" or "semi-automatic" key is the most complex electro-mechanical key. It has the advantage over the cootie in that it assists the operator in sending well-formed streams of dits. As with the cootie, the bug can be pushed to the left or to the right." Cootie and dits? And the world thought computer talk was confusing. Good luck with this.

You think you had it rough? I bet your mother never called you a ninny.

Watching a game at Fenway is totally different than watching a game in any other stadium. The background is full of people; active fans keen on every play and sitting cheek to jowl with other fans. Other stadiums, including the Skydome ( I will not say the real name), is a bunch of people checking their phones, sometimes checking on the game. (That's an exaggeration but you get the point.)

Update: Davis Schneider's batting average is now .625. That's 5 for 8 8n two games plus a walk. Did I mention he's a grinder? Tiring day here so I'm chilling with a brew and baseball on a late Saturday afternoon. Cheers!

This will get missed because it's Saturday, or because it's me, but this is fascinating. Stop here if you don't know who Gilgamesh was. This article ponders that Inanna might be the first literary character. I'll have to read Gilgamesh again to see what I can find. In this section of literature, there are floods, resurrections, gods and goddesses. Remind you of anything? All of this happened at least 5,000 years ago, probably much longer than that. Cool, huh?

Davis Schneider, the new Blue Jays call-up has a .500 batting average. He's a grinder. He hustles. Draft pick? 849 in 2017. Guys like this make baseball worth watching, if only for the good feeling from a guy may have finally made it.

nostr:npub1g23rlyy0x2xdhtgfxja8uxtwvkqqtfhxxps8kn0pnutmu09mulcsupqxj3 Nothing as wild as your day. Slept overnight at the mother-in-laws' (with my husband, natch) because father-in-law is in the hospital and MIL is freaked to be alone. Air mattress not the best for good night's sleep.

13+ mile ruck in the muggy Minnesota air. It was good to be outdoors.

Vacuum packed a bunch of meat my hubs brought home from Costco. Now checking mstdn

nostr:npub1wetz940t7d3t92fzhpvdwk74k2v3rr07xrkyendekgztc3vwql6qn4hu5u 13 miles? Wow. Well done. Good for you to help your MIL. Same as you, I got a bunch of meat from Costco. Boneless, skinless chicken thighs. 5 KG, about 11 pounds. I'll vacuum pack them tomorrow or Monday. I have a Costco Business Centre close. They sell big lots of stuff to restaurants, etc. Anyone can shop there so I do! Meat seems cheaper than the regular Costco, also close to me. Cheers!

How's your Saturday going? Mine's been busy. My youngest daughter asked if she and her husband could come over tomorrow to move their stuff to their new (old) house, about 100 km west of Toronto. I've stored furniture and boxes here for a while. So, clear the hallway, take the doors off, get the boxes to the front of the basement, etc. Oh, big cleanup too. I'll pay for this tomorrow but hey, I'll have 1 1/2 empty bedrooms. Cheers!

(Jays game at 4 so I'll watch and lift....)

Are there any accents experts out there? To my ear, these three women have very similar accents: Emma Watson, Lou Llobell and Nelufar Hedayat. None of the three were born in Britain, not sure if that matters. Watson grew up with English, obviously, but the other two didn't. I'd like to find out if their accent is regional or one that is picked up in school, for example. Llobell is in 'Foundation', Watson is in many things and here is Hedayat's latest pod.

Davis Schneider just homered in his first NMLB at bat. If you watch the replay, check the smile on Alejandro Kirk's face. It was a mile wide. Three homers so far and it's only the second inning. Go Jays!

Here are the MLB hitting stats, up to date as of yesterday. It's live so you can see where your team is in every category. The Jays are much better hitting against NL teams than AL teams. Remember Kevin Seitzer and how the Jays let him go? The Braves are second in team batting average. I wonder who their hitting coach is? The Brave stepped up. The Jays didn't. Our loss.

Floridians have to deal with more than their idiot/racist/psychopathic governor and huge snakes. Hansen's Disease, aka leprosy, is surging. 34% of new case patients acquired it locally, as opposed to moving there from leprosy-endemic areas. Leprosy isn't as frightening as it used to be but if it's left untreated, something a nation with no free healthcare faces daily, it's much worse. Ugh.
