Don’t get me wrong devices make it easier so more people do it but if all this stuff hadn’t been invented I’d still be inclined to read a book over interacting with people most of the time. In that respect I think I might interact with people more now that I can do so from in the backyard or wherever without actually having to go to where they are which I’ve never been inclined to do and I only got a smart phone 10 years ago when I was 27.
Easy. I leave everything on silent and do not disturb. Both the device and all the apps on it. My big hitter is listening to podcasts and audiobooks but I don’t really see that any different than constantly having my nose in a book which is what I did before I had devices. Listening might even be better because I’m doing other things while I listen.
Bees!!! My dad kept bees for a while when I was a kid. These days the bees he has are ones he doesn’t want. Carpenter bees that tunnel into the wooden house and out buildings. He likes to swat them with badminton rackets.
Sell it at auction for pennies on the dollar ASAP so they can get the couple thousand the property tax was. Next delinquent tax auction for my county is November 4th. Looks like they have one a year. You get 120 day grace period to be extorted late so once a year in November makes sense.
Good luck. I know we’re not supposed to say it out-loud but in a system driven by complaints the problem really is the people around us. A large part of it anyway. This sucks though. Hopefully something better comes along for you and yours.
Time is the one thing we don’t get more of. Adult waking hours? If you are lucky you get between a quarter of a million and half a million of them. Use them wisely. I need to work on that myself.
My colleagues and I fix our coworkers mistakes by hand so the work load varies. It’s been building for several days and now they want to scramble because it’s at a point where it might start effecting production since we’re running out of places to store tires that need fixing.
I like my job. I don’t mind the 45 dollars an hour I get paid for coming in on my day off.
