Hello #nostr, here's your homework for today:

Stop your ISP from snooping and encrypt your DNS queries!

If your router supports DNS over TLS this takes a minute and greatly enhances privacy for all devices in your local network.

Go to your router DNS settings, enable encryption and put in these values:

https://quad9.net/service/service-addresses-and-features#rec

If you don't have encryption, just using the quad9 servers also increases your privacy.

Don't use your ISP servers - they will profile you and happily sell your data to anybody. Governments get it for free I guess.

Recommended routers?

Kinda. Here's how I understand it. We each put $5 in a jar. I then buy something from you for say $3, but we say we'll just figure it out later. You buy something from me for $2, same. We decide to settle up and you take $6 from jar and I take $4. Take this and multiply by all the transactions and hook a bunch of jars together.

Not loans, but managing balances for later settlement. I saw an explainer using beads once.

Lightning is just a network of channels. Each channel has inbound and outbound sats. You shouldnt have to start node or do this complicated nonsense.

Yeah, that should work. Lightning channel management isnt for the faint of heart. It sucks that pheonix is doing this because they are better that most.

I follow and see it. There has been some talk of client filtering, not sure what it currently looks like. Getting on people's radars is still tricky, and relay choice makes it more complex.
