Good morning nostr, and happy Friday. Time for coffee and thinking about the day ahead. After feeding chores this morning, i'll be going to my friend's house again to see if we can make progress on her btc setup. The thing i'm not sure about is the Eth that she has, how to move it out of her shitcoin wallet and into an exchange that will allow her to convert to btc. Maybe Eth has its own blockchain, i know nothing about Eth, so we'll see. After that i need to prep the bnb cabin for incoming guests. But coffee first. Then for me, a stateless device might be preferable. Can only use device by inputting seed. That way i only really need to worry about securing the metal seed. I can do that. With all the other methods, i would be more afraid of forgetting where i hid something, than of someone else stealing it.

Does stateless mean that you make your own seedphrase?

Ok, my mind is going in all directions thinking about coldcard opsec. If someone took my coldcard and found the pin, couldnt they take the bitcoin because the device knows the seedphrase? They could duplicate the coldcard onto another device, right? Would using a passphrase prevent this? Dont beat me up if this is a dumb question.

I'm just guessing, but I think it's to avoid dead money. Meaning, them adding liquidity to a wallet, but that wallet being inactive for years. Than liquidity would be sitting there, collecting dust.
