After feeding chores this morning, i'll be going to my friend's house again to see if we can make progress on her btc setup. The thing i'm not sure about is the Eth that she has, how to move it out of her shitcoin wallet and into an exchange that will allow her to convert to btc. Maybe Eth has its own blockchain, i know nothing about Eth, so we'll see. After that i need to prep the bnb cabin for incoming guests. But coffee first. With ETH some wallets can make that crossing to BTC (I don’t know which one it has)

Exodus supports both and you can switch between lots of coins easily there. Perhaps it's not the best rate, but it's not kyc and switching any ETH for BTC is surely a win.
And it supports lightning too so you always tell her about nostr afterwards 🙂
That sounds like a plan, if we can figure out how to get Eth to Exodus. Not sure if Eth has its own seedphrase? Maybe she has something written down.
If not just send it over if she can still access the wallet. You just need an address much like BTC should be relatively quick and easy providing she hasn't staked it or something like that.
Ok, i wasnt sure if Eth has its own seed phrase, or how it works. Thanks. She said she has seeds, but i didnt know if she meant for the btc or for the Eth.
I have some wallets that only mentioned writing down one seed phrase but potentially support multiple types of coins. So I am assuming it's all the same seed. That never really occurred to me before! I guess that's why people say to use Bitcoin only stuff for the best security because if your keys are compromised all your coins could be affected.

Good morning. She can also just use web services like Changenow.io Use a VPN! There is no KYC requirement. Worked for me to get rid of shitcoins. There are other services, but I haven't tried them.

What wallet for the ETH? Metamask?
Its currently on Coinomi, and i have read that coinomi is no longer being supported. She said when she tried to exchange it to btc, it takes her to something called Changely? So it scared her and she didnt proceed. If i can help her get the Eth to Exodus (which she also has), then it should be easy from there. Unless this Changely is legit and we can exchange it there.
