Gm. Rise and shine. The Pip dog and I got out this morning practicing our tracking skills. I set a deer hide drag (in red on map) the previous evening, thus the track was aged 14.5 hours. This is the oldest one so far we have tried. Pip's tracking is in black on the map. She definitely tracks good when straight lines are involved but struggles on hard turns. Also tracking in woods was more difficult than through the hay field. Probably just because of less ground surface area in the forest where scent molecules can cling too ?? Need more practice. Deer opener is next Tuesday. I should hang another stand today. #hunting #dogstr #tracking #grownostr

If I tried growing that, there would be nothing there. I have one bed of broc, cauli, and cabbage that are covered right now. They look really good.

I just read up on them. It looks like they will ripen PNW. I am going to give them a shot next year.
Its the only winter squash I bother growing anymore. Been growing it for 10 or 11 years. This was my patch this year, about 12 plants I think. 
Good haul of winter squash! Variety is Canada Crookneck (C. moschata). I'd guess maybe 300 lbs. Taste with butternut but better, much sweeter #garden #squash

I grew a black seeded variety of amaranth one year. "Polish" i think. Spent many years pulling out of gardens. Very weedy! I grew a white seeded one a few years later which I liked better and less weedy.
