Because open networks provide better value. Just like I believe Bitcoin is inevitable, the NOSTR protocol is censorship resistant, knows no borders, and content creators can receive monetary value in fractions of a "cent". I may not want to pay $6/ mo for a channel's content, but if I find content I like I would not mind sending them 5 pennys of value. Not to mention no shadow banning, political bias, etc.
