Welcome #[0] to nostr!
I think it’s neat that I can set a follow distance in iris.to so I only see people X degrees of “follow separation” from people I follow.
It’s like crowdsourcing spam prevention to the people I follow, who they follow, up to the follow distance. And if everyone blocks/mutes any bad actors / spam they help people who follow them too!
#[3] not sure if you were linked in the above comment I made, hadn’t followed you before I posted that and idk if damus does a special linking. Sorry if you got a double message. Check the source post talking about relays
Good questions, so far I’ve mostly been using relays I see people talking about here.
Yeah he mentioned that in the podcast too - I think misunderstood the intent of your note in hindsight, thanks for taking the time to elaborate
check out Nostr.band and find folks in topics you’re interested in!
No offense but you just saying “he does not make the argument” doesn’t give anyone any value without saying why.
I listened to a podcast interview with him on TFTC and, if I understood correctly, he was using the phrase “bitcoin is violence” to mean that bitcoin replaces violence as a means to settle disputes, which would mean bitcoin is leading the world to be less violent, and to encourage militaries to buy more bitcoin.
Thank you!
Typo, I meant “x degrees of separation “
Starting seeing stuff in global that is illegal in most countries and unpleasant - could we get a #damus feature to filter global by X degrees of spectating from people you follow, like what Iris has? #[1]
My understanding is that a lightning invoice isn’t what is supposed to go in the profile for the lightning address field, instead you should get an address from a wallet that has a @ sign in it. I know both wallet of satoshi and alby offer this.
Can you enlighten someone who doesn’t know what p tags are yet
Okay this is amazing
Reminder to broaden who you follow by searching on nostr.band, great way to find folks interested in a similar topic
when you block a npub and you're feed clears up again
