SimpleX: https://lnshort.it/symbsrcool-simplex/ dev that’s excited about Nostr - recently launched https://nokyctranslate.com

I’ve been wondering about this, and I think it will lead to more software being written by more people, and it’s one thing to get the first prototype working but will chatgpt be able to debug like a human? And if there’s lots more software out there than we’ll still need lots of developers.

Plus on the security side, I keep hearing how things keep getting worse and more complex with so many software layers these days, that idk if there really won’t be a place for a human developer anymore.

Hmmm, these things are trained on past data. I’m skeptical about overarching claims like this because humans keep wanting new things that have never been done before. You think Chat GPT could have come

up with the Nostr protocol given a vague question like “write me a decentralized social media program”?

Still, I’ve started using GitHub codex and can’t believe how nice it makes coding, so I’m all in for these tools and think they will totally change how software dev happens.

Had GPT-4 completely rewrite the Snake game using a Bitcoin logo in place of the apple. Each time I played the game I kept asking GPT-4 to add features and aspects to the game that I wanted. I did not write *any* of the code.

I paid the upgrade fee to use GPT-4 instead of GPT-3 (didn't realize it was actually GPT-3 in my previous post) and this time it had zero bugs or errors that I had to ask it to fix.

Play the game at: https://nostrgram.co/gpt4/btcsnake.html

In total I asked it for 11 revisions and updated the game with the code it gave me each time.

Bottom line: Programmers are out of a job in the years to come. Bitcoin better moon soon so I can retire lol. Seriously, though, I'll be using GPT-4 to create other apps and things and push its limits. So far I am very impressed.

s/o #[0] for the Bitcoin apple idea

Are you a programmer? Lot of programmers saying it’s going to take away jobs but the examples they post are programs that have been written a million times before

I spent way too long pondering “ride freely” in trying to answer this

Nah, Boston dynamics is just a really expensive video production company. Chat GPT is cool but those techniques are unlikely to scale for embodied agents. Right now adept.ai is probably on the closest track even though they are so early

It’s still got a ways to go, I wish it was better

I’m counting on using ChatGPT to write rust for me so I don’t have to go learn it ~/s

guys bitcoin doesn’t seem dead

The shame is that many normal people will think they are actually trading bitcoin. Fidelity could literally not ever hold any bitcoin and offer this service. It’s like a paper trading account but you pay actual dollars

Many things are culminating at the right time:

Instant bitcoin payments worldwide: #lightning

Decentralized social media: #nostr

Universal language translation:

Would it make sense to run a relay behind tor?

If you were going to run a relay in a country with censored internet, should you just do it behind a vpn?

I want to pay for DeepL translation in Damus with bitcoin…
