Global is a mistake. I never use it and I'm having the best experience.

One way I have found to connect and learn from anyone is to listen for insight, not agreement or disagreement. It puts me in a different mindset when listening and allows me to filter noise from signal and keep my ego mostly out of it.

Is it possible to force the a nostr application to query Nostr relays from its own server instead of using the client devices?

I’m planning to set up a VPS running a relay-clone hybrid and I plan to pull the db into a graphDB with visual tools (probably Neo4J originally and maybe moving to Memgraph later if performance requires).

The plan is to publish a dynamic social graph of nostr on the web and if possible try and make it real time.

No other social media does this. LinkedInMaps existed for a while 10+ years ago, but nobody does this today (that I am aware of).

I’m planning to publish the map of relays at first (as slow/stable) and map of pubkeys later (starting with bif follows), then maybe in future can even represent some traffic graphically?

I think graphical discovery has never been fully explored, the technology probably was never there, but I can think of half a dozen ways to offer it.

Would anyone use it? I think the visual would be a mothlamp to tech journalists wanting to cover social media.

My favorite guilty pleasure is hopping over to bluesky and searching “nostr”.

So Bluesky is learning about Lightning now

Just say there's a new cool app that doesn't have the same censorship as the old ones and people send each other money for posts they like. No tech, no details. They will learn more from being here. "Normies" dont need the under the hood. Send them the best app for their phone. Later you call tell them how they can switch to any app and use different tools all connected. I think #nostr people are too stuck on selling the tech to non-technical people.
