You do you man. It can be seen as a bit centralized to some since you are providing such a big funding footprint, but it's better than many who choose to not help at all. I give out Sats with everything I have built for Nostr, yet ask for nothing (nor grants) in return. Is this ideal? No. Will I go broke? Maybe someday. I'm not building clients just Nostr user experiences and providing media content that would pull in others with different interests so it rarely falls under funding radars or criteria here anyway. I just do it because I see a void that needs to be filled. Once I see no one needs it anymore, I'll stop. Seen it plenty of times over the last 30 years online.

Most people in this modern tech world just expect everything to be free and yet will also complain about these free services not being up to their standards. F 'em all. It's truly hard for any tech business to turn a profit in these modern times. This is sadly why a lot of them sell out to a bigger company as soon as possible or go the ad revenue model to make up for it. Tech is rapidly spoiling everyone way too much.
I’m not from here, but I did once move here for a year, leave for about 1 1/2 years and then was able to come back the 2nd time. That was 20 years ago. I do recall that second move being so much harder than the first move here. Must’ve broken some major hexes or something.
Likely from all the CA residents who moved there before the war now want to come back and are stuck. 😆

Yeh. I built one of the earlier Internet chat services called StarVoice Chat that boomed worldwide pretty fast in the mid 90s. I had the idea to make a zine about a lot of the music being posted on it. That rolled into a Goth zine and a metal zine. There’s a huge bunch of history that to me is like pre historic Internet. Most of its references are long gone now. “Before Wikipedia” lol. Kinda wild to think back to it.
