Lol true. Prime example being a couple hours after I got done mopping the entire house and putting it back together, my roommate walked across the house in his shoes that were fucked up from the rain outside, leaving tracks everywhere. πŸ˜‘ bruv....why...you know we take our shoes off inside.

The process sucks but it always feels good when you're done.

If I handed out three business cards that means all of these extracurricular activities I did count as work right?

Work done. Time to go play some Disc golf.

Also, one last thing I'll mention is that unlike Mastodon, relays here are not federated, so they don't communicate in between each other unless it's specifically set up that way.

So in a way the relays you're connected to do matter for the content that you're seeing. I imagine if Nostr really catches on there will be topic-specific relays like sports or whatever. But for now And it kind of sucks to say this, especially from a decentralization standpoint, but connect to a few smaller relays and then make sure you're connected to some of the larger relays and you generally won't have a problem with people seeing your stuff.

It's not without its own issues, of course, for whatever reason I can't get the RSS plugin to work and it would be really nice to have a count of unread articles on my homepage. πŸ˜…

If you really want to make sure things are being seen, look up something like a blaster relay, which is a single relay that connects to a lot of different relays. Off the top of my head I forget who is hosting some of the blaster style relays, so apologies there.

It's more dependent on which relays you're connected to, so if you're broadcasting to like two or three of the top 10 relays, then most people will probably end up seeing it. But if you're only broadcasting to some niche relays that not a lot of users are on, then Less people will see it.

Pretty much, follower count is hard to quantify due to all of the information coming from different relays. If it's a metric you really care about then nostr.band will probably be your most accurate count.

Its called homepage derp. But I just kept running into issues with Dashy. homepage at least with the way that I have it set up now is simpler to manage than dashy was.

Here's a tool that I found a few days ago that I've really been enjoying self-hosting. It's advertised as an OSINT tool and it is definitely that, but if you are a web developer looking in a potential client site that you might need to take over, this gives you a quick overview on where it's hosted and other useful information.

yeah I was doing some initial research into a site I might be taking over because apparently this person had already paid a bunch of money to a "developer" and then they have ended up ghosting the client after they paid.

But it was all built on wix... including the domain registration So depending on how that is set up, then it might be a PITA to get control over the domian if the other guy Refuses to cooperate.

Damn, People are really out here paying someone more than 4k for a fucking wix site.

My roommate likes to inform me of this as well. πŸ˜…

If I've said it once I'll say it again, but Crocs fuck. And so will you, especially if you're rocking Crocs. It's form, function, style and comfort all in one amazing shoe. πŸ˜›
