I'm just testing it out, but pretty much what you mentioned seems to be the only benefit. Having a local backup of your notes, a local backup of following lists, private drafts, relay lists.

Considering some applications, still break following lists and relay lists and whatnot, I'm going to play around with it for a little bit and see if I can break then restore some lists.

I don't know what waterstones tables is, but I definitely agree. I would always go into a used bookshop and if the cover looked interesting I'd read a couple pages and see if I liked it.

Libraries and used book shops are the best.

Id use vaultwarden over bitwarden if you go that route. Can be hosted on something as small as a pi and is a bit stripped down (ie bitwarden has a lot of Enterprise features that an average user doesn't need.)
