Compared to october 2023, sats are expensive.

Dude, Youtube is cracking down hard and it's insanely frustrating. My go to for YEARS for getting video and audio pulled from youtube in order to make clips, transcribe, use found footage, etc has just stopped working, It's all throwing back errors.

Legacy platforms are literally becoming hot garbage. This is all such bullshit.

As much as it pisses me off, it's at least a (albeit slow) self correcting mechanism. Because if i can't record or download stuff from Youtube... I literally will use it half as much, *at best.*

You use monero to pay mullvad, ivpn, njalla, 1984 hosting etc. fully anonymous, what is the problem. You can't do that with BTC. Use the tools wisely.

In some Nostr posts from a while ago, I vented about how I hate YouTube's algorithm and how it incentivizes people to make sensationalist headlines and images.

Like, I'll do a serious macroeconomic interview with a great and well-informed host, and then when it gets published I see that the headline image is like a picture of the dollar exploding with me smiling next to it, along with a sensationalist text description, for the algo.

I hate that.

So I'm going to aggressively shill an example of the opposite. Someone doing it right. I did an interview the other day with an institutional investor and bitcoiner, who doesn't do that. He has normal headlines, and normal pictures, to talk about serious things. Robert Dewey.

Bob has basically gone out there and told YouTube's algorithm to fuck off. He has a small subscriber base, despite being a more informed interviewer than most, as a gray-hair institutional investor who also gets bitcoin at a really deep level. I've met him in person, and he's great.

So my shill for today is, go check out Bob's channel, and consider giving this interview or any of his other interviews a thumbs up. Let's be conscious regarding shitty algorithms, and highlight things that push back on them.

It still makes me laugh when Walker asked us what his titled ‘ Another fucking Bitcoin podcast’ should focus on. I suggested not being another fucking Bitcoin podcast and maybe interview plebs instead of the same circle jerk. He told me in no uncertain terms I was completely irrelevant to his life. And so was born another fucking Bitcoin podcast. It’s a funny old space this. We’re early and people are really hustling for relevance. I enjoy my irrelevance. Plebs are way more fun 🤙

Totally agree. I prefer v4v podcasts with plebs and no sponsors. I'm sick of listening to all the macro bullshit podcasts where the guests are passed around. v4v with no sponsors is the way so that I don't have to listen to the one thousandth repetion of swan / river / unchained / ledger bla bla bla sponsored ads.

Deleted my YT account, using Invidious now and just bookmarked the channels I'm interested in. Every other day check if a new videos published in the channels. No bullshit algo distraction anymore. No Shorts ... What a relief.

I’m thinking more and more about writing essays on “forbidden topics” under a pseudonym mostly because it’s want to dive into these taboo discussions and see if I can put my finger on the nerve of why exactly they are forbidden and cannot be openly spoken about.

Love it. Fast, low fees. Services like mullvad, ivpn, njalla, 1984.hosting accept Monero. To get monero, you can spin up a LN node (behind tor), fund it with non-kyc btc and then swap LN to Monero (there are exchanges operating on Tor).
