The session yesterday on the introduction to the technical side of #Bitcoin was great. We appreciate our guest educator,

We learned about public key cryptography and how digital signatures are key to proving ownership on the #Bitcoin network, as well as the role of hashing.

We wrapped up our discussion on the fiat system and who controls it. In addition, we explored fractional reserve banking, its impact on the money supply, and the key players in the fiat system.
We’re now excited to begin Chapter 5, where we’ll discuss how problems lead to solutions, gradually introducing our cohort 8 students to #Bitcoin and why it’s the better money.

Bitcoin For Everyone.
A few months ago I used nostr:npub1kmwdmhuxvafg05dyap3qmy42jpwztrv9p0uvey3a8803ahlwtmnsnhxqk9 as a platform to raise money for a charity called the Turing Trust. The concept was simple: buy a node and support their work sending computers to school kids in Malawi. We raised and donated over £2000! At the end of the fundraiser I was disappointed that the Turing Trust wanted the donation in fiat... 😞
The initiative had an impact however and after receiving the fiat donation (and watching the bitcoin price rip to 100k) the Turing Trust have now agreed to accept and HODL bitcoin as payment for the computers from now on. Yesterday, we had an amazing first session of BITCOIN SOVEREIGNTY extracurricular program!
The session focused on #Bitcoin transactions and partially covered UTXO management. Attendees downloaded @Bloclstream Green Wallet
