Weird... Can you like and do everything else?
I am not sure how it could work without Google Services. But probably, yes. At least for now.
The F-droid edition definitely has no notifications at the moment.
Every technology can be used for the good or the bad. Tech is not the problem. Politics is.
Really? That's weird. What do you see on the screen? Any error messages? Does the app crash? Or what does it do? Record a video if it's complicated.
Calling everyone to go to Twitter one last time and do a post like this for your preferred client.

Based on your past work,
are you going to build a WHO validator based on nostr in the future?
"COVID-19 Credential Verifier app for Android using the WHO's Digital Documentation of COVID-19 Certificates"
https://github.com/WorldHealthOrganization/ddcc-validator
Are you going to build vaccine passports?
on nostr
🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮
ps. Amethyst is great, keep up the good work!
Interestingly enough, that project was built using Verifiable Credentials and DIDs, and the credentials were transferred over offline QR Codes, largely on paper. It is more private and decentralized than Nostr because there is no relay to gather all the data and surveil people on.
If you don't like that project, you should not like Nostr as well.
Amethyst gets rate limited all time when users scrolls too fast :) not a big deal, though. :)
Filter limits in Nostr is hard, but we are still getting around them.
Now that you can see the issue with rate limits on Twitter and Reddit, you will understand why Nostr is such a big deal for health care information (rate/access limits everywhere). We have been battling this for decades.
Nostr fixes it.
Yep, just hit all relays and download everything you can :) I kinda do that for DMs and zap events to run push notifications from. :)
📢 Highlighter Chrome extension 0.1 released 🚀

BUT: you'll need to sideload it.
"WHAT?!" Yes, did you know that Google handles their Chrome store like Apple does?
Yes. Developers need to KYC.
Yes. Developers also need to have their code approved.

I've submitted nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x extension for approval.
But if you want early access, there's the link for you; and I'm sure nostr:npub10awzknjg5r5lajnr53438ndcyjylgqsrnrtq5grs495v42qc6awsj45ys7 will have a guide before I publish this very note 😅
For more info on what it can do and a quick demo video 👇
If you want to see the code... It's dirty but it works. https://github.com/vitorpamplona/amethyst-push-notif-server
Just a push server. It listens to DM and zap events from 400 relays and sends them down with Google services. Literally 100 lines of code.
IMHO, It would be better for decentralization if Damus didn't have a relay.
We just display and redeem to your LNAddress for now.
Amethyst has this very effective rule for url previews: if you type the url without the "http://" the app doesn't not load the preview card. If your link has "http://" then the card loads.
This means that you can cite coracle.social in the middle of a sentence without opening their preview card or load the card with http://coracle.social
