Very interesting. I am guessing this happens with the youtube app as well? When you play the video on youtube, does it give you controls on the desktop?
Ohhh interesting. I will see if we can support this as well
Do you add people to 30001 lists as well?
I don't think Coracle supports NIP51 yet. No idea what Nostur does.
On Listr, make sure you create a People List, not a note list.
Fixed Note lists are not a feed yet on Amethyst.
Amethyst autoplays and broadcast everything. I uninstalled KDE Connect from my phone, and from my Linux computer, because it was making my computer go crazy with media notifications as I swiped through Amethyst on my phone.
There's probably a way to get KDE Connect to not do that, but I don't like my phone having the amount of access that KDE Connect gives to my personal computer. I was going to uninstall it anyways.

Sorry, what's the KDE Connect doing? And why is it getting notifications from Amethyst? Are you routing Amethyst's traffic through your desktop?
Nothing wrong with it, I just have never seen that before.
Anyone know what happens to zaps that are somehow sent to people without zaps enabled?
I'm using #amethyst and somehow it let me zap nostr:npub1t0nyg64g5vwprva52wlcmt7fkdr07v5dr7s35raq9g0xgc0k4xcsedjgqv
It sends via lightning, directly to the wallet of the receiver. You won't get a zap confirmation though :(
Live Streams just use the regular Nostr protocol to distribute streaming "posts". If you use a service like zap.stream, you can stream with your Nostr user and Amethyst will show that to your followers.
I made a list on listr.lol how would I got about importing it to Amethyst so I can have a view of only people on the list nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z ? #asknostr
There is no need to import. If you make a list of people, it should show up immediately in your top bar.
Can you send me a screen shot when you see the spacing issues? Sometimes I need to adjust for certain phones
It's probably a bug on the new replaceable event storage :( I will take a look tomorrow.
What's the frustrating part? Let's hope we can fix it :)
No need to solve everything at once. Specific recommendations for given flows or even placements in the UI are super welcome. We got no UI/UX designer in the team, so, blue ocean for you :)
Thanks! I would love to get your wireframes.
The things you describe generally were placed there for a reason. For instance, the notification options were added as a specific request to get users to stop citing everyone, all the time. The user should review who he/she wants to notify at every new message. Otherwise, we just keep bugging everyone and it's very annoying for the other people, especially if they use new clients that are not filtering notifications yet.
Similar case for relay badges. The hope was to get users to pay attention to their relay set of choice. It was never fully implemented, but I think you get the idea. It doesn't need to be there in that way, but displaying where the message is coming from is a necessity in Nostr. Otherwise, we would just be slaves of relays.
The Notification doesn't show status. It's just groups the reactions without caring for a time-based feed, like twitter does. I am not sure if it is the best design and I am happy to change if it's not. But that's how we got here :)
Yep, the counter doesn't exclude blocked people yet. :(
Yep, we are aware of that one. But that is performance. It's a constant battle. I am curious about the "UI is so bad" issues which can be more easily fixed.
I agree with the multiple approaches. And, yes a large group will need a different protocol. But there are so many possible solutions that it's hard to settle for a secret-based approach. At least, I have not seen a good protocol yet. Especially when the group is indeed large: it just takes 1 person out of 10,000 people to not make it private.
Do you mind clarifying the UI issues? Then I can add to the feature request list.
An event that doesn't need to be in memory all the time.
