Damus has it's own relays (I use them but they fill the global timeline with spam bots so I limited them to just follows and notifications), I assumed he was referring to them but if he's just depriving his users of the feature on the client that's pretty silly.
Because the property values of the surrounding areas will plummet if there is a shitty building decaying next door. So you buy the shittiest building in an area, allow it to become even shittier and drive the whole neighborhood down. Then you buy up all the cheap houses, do some fancy renovations, and market the entire neighborhood to hipsters who will pay big money to live with other rich hipsters.
Fucking hell. Makes sense though, don't let people build up generational wealth and instead keep them in a constant treadmill of seeing their neighborhood go to shit, selling their home for cheap, and moving to a nice neighborhood.

No during WWII the federal government shipped blacks into northern cities on an industrial scale to replace the Whites who were fighting the war. Once Whites came back from the fighting they were driven out of their historical communities by the black's violence and crime and moved into suburbs. That's where the whole "white flight" whining comes from.
Most people live in suburbs, and there are a few cities which are still all White. But most historic cities are majority or close black.
I agree, the idea that an individual relay choosing to respect an individual user's request to delete a post that user made somehow creates centralized authority is insane. It's just basic decency. No one should expect it cus there's always the possibility of a relay operating in bad faith, but that's not a reason to do so yourselves.
Anyway I removed damus relays from my write list because I'm not going to write to them if they don't respect my delete requests. They also have a spam problem so I removed them from my global timeline list too.
And also hurt people become monsters when they are told to use the wrong coping mechanisms.

The only reason I started relying on others in the first place was because trying to do it on my own got to be too much. If you have people who you actually can rely on then you should, the difference is night and day.
