/me, like everybody, just wants a rock to wind a piece of string around.

Good talk,

the one question you didn't ask though is: HOW?

Iris-scans like Worldcoin? Protocol-level DNA-scans? I guess AI can help with that, I'm not sure, bjut it sound a lot like KYC on steroids.

We made a WoT thing…

https://grapevine.my

Checkout this client demo using the GrapeRank algorithm. It scans the (almost) entire Nostr network to find people “close to you” that may NOT be on your radar.

The GrapeRank algorithm was designed by nostr:npub1u5njm6g5h5cpw4wy8xugu62e5s7f6fnysv0sj0z3a8rengt2zqhsxrldq3 as a better way to do “Web of Trust”. Last year, he and I worked together to refine it and develop this demo of its capabilities. The algo itself is open source and configurable (in what kind of events it pulls from Nostr and how to interpret these for calculating GrapeRank scores) and has its own repository.

https://github.com/Pretty-Good-Freedom-Tech/graperank-nodejs

If you are interested in developing or using algorithms on Nostr, please take a look at this demo (and repo) and share with others.

Freedom of choice is powerless without a thriving and open market of choices. This is (part of) our contribution to this market.

"GrapeRank found 0 people in your network."

That's all I get, will try again later.

nostr:npub1gmhctt2hmjqz8ay2x8h5f8fl3h4fpfcezwqneal3usu3u65qca4s8094ea thanks for all the support, its really motivating to get a notification for a massive zap while I'm working on the app 😀

Also its cool to see that the support leader-board I built is working (although someone still hasn't posted an image or link there)

Well deserved my friend.

Now get back to work!

Mullvad was one of the first services ever to accept (and the first I ever payed for with) Bitcoin.

In 2010!

Been using them ever since.

NordVPN does way to many stupid TV ads here for me to ever consider giving them my sats.

Yes, it was Gavin Andresen.

I remember using it once, sent the coins right back to it after though, cuz I didn't really need them.

Good old cpu-mining 50btc-blocks days.

Yep, you can receive Lightning transactions, but those are insta-swapped to Liquid by the Boltz service (involving a fee)

and you can send Lightning, but those are then swapped from your Liquid-balance by the Botlz service (involving a fee).

It works and does so incredibly well, but it'll cost you some sats.

Yeah, because it's a Liquid wallet, not a lightning wallet.

It's not actually "them" charging though, it's Boltz who's charging the fee.

Used it a couple of time to rebalance channels on my nodes.

Works quite good, although the swap-fees add up quickly if you rebalance a couple of million sats.

Its permissionlessness.

That's what I liked most about Bitcoin, that's what I like about nostr.

Don't ask for permission, just do it.

Yeah, I already noticed something's wrong, not sure yet what it is though.

It's a nostrcheck.me hostname that worked fine before, but not anymore.

Guess I have to change that.

As usual a great video.

I used the Aqua liquid wallet a couple of times to rebalance some of my nodes channels and avoid lots of small onchain-utxos in the process, this wallet seems like it might be a good alternative to that.

Was wondering though if you can explicitly receive liquid transactions.

Does the "choose format" button that we've seen let you choose what transactions to receive? Like, givin you a liquid invoice instead of lightning?

Guess you got that wrong, it wasn't my intention to belittle lnbeats, the opposite is true, i think it's great.

I don't even know what the Forbes-part is about.

Yeah, that's a workaround to zap shows i'm unable to zap on fountain,

but it doesn't change the fact that wavlake and fountain don't work as they should.

I get that most people use mobile devices for everything these days, but don't just forget about us that do not.

If you offer a "browser-app", please make it work.

What about us desktop users that don't use apps?

We can't even create a playlist, clicking the heart-button does nothing but tell us to "Please login to add to your favorites list."

I love wavlake, but most of the features don't work for me.

Same is true for fountain, can't even zap anymore since the nostr-login-update.

Makes me kinda sad.
