/me, like everybody, just wants a rock to wind a piece of string around.

Only on the Autobahn, for trains afaik the french TGV is faster than the ICE.

I run both and tbh i like start9 more, worth checking out for sure, but it's still tor-only (until soon™), so if you need clearnet-connections you might wanna stick to umbrel for now.

Sure, if tried them, but #peerswap is a way to rebalance existing channels using the liquid-network,

lightningnetwork.plus/amboss are ways to create new channels (or find partners to do so).

That's 2 completely different things that are hard to compare.

Impossible to tell if coins are lost, or just haven't moved for whatever reason.

So, by trying to "get lost coins back" you/those future people are basically trying to steal coins that you/they can't be sure are actually lost.

They're free to fork however they want anyway, FOSS ftw.

You can (and should) backup a channel, yes.

You might still "lose the L2" when using such backup due to the channel being force closed, but you'll get your remaining local sats back on L1, so you're not actually losing anything (except maybe Tx-fees for the channel-close).

The liquidity doesn't disappear if you swap it, it just moves from local/outbound to remote/inbound.

Like, you open a 1m sats channel and have 1m sats to spend and 0 sats to receive,

you swap those 1m sats to pay off your loan and then have 1m sats to receive and 0 to spend.

Doable, but just buying a channel with inbound liquidity might probably be cheaper than tx-fees + ln-fees + swap-fees + loan-fees.

Ask nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm to help! I recently had a problem with my extension and they helped me straighten it out 🤙

Thank you 🙏🏻

Well, if I could zap/boost at all, I could do it with or without alby, I often zap from Zeus instead of the browser-extension.

The problem is @fountain doesn't show me any way to zap anymore, no button, no link, no qr-code, nuttin that says "zap here!".

Guess it's no problem when using the mobile app, but I never did, I'm an oldschool desktop user.

idk, would probably work, but is not really a solution (at least for me). They need lots of cash to do what they do and donating relevant amounts in 1k-chunks is .... semi-optimal.

Guess I don't have much of a choice, either that, or not donating at all.

When they started accepting btc-donations, they just had a bitcoin-address shown on their website,

but then decided to donate an amount that prolly was too big for them to handle. They got scared, removed the address the next day and came back a couple of months later with coinbase and BitPay as payment providers.

I wish they would do it on their own again, but I guess they won't.

Crazy shit, isn't it?

Just yesterday I wanted to donate some corn to one of my goto donation-recipients and noticed that BitPay (the PSP they use) already implemented this bullshit.

Can't donate more than €1000 without KYC.

Keep being weird, anything else is boring!

I don't know anything about minibits/ecash so I'll leave that to others,

but while looking for ways to manage channel liquidity I realized that (in my case at least) going from lightning->on-chain is more expensive than going from lighnting->liquid->on-chain.

The liquid-step also allows me to collect some smaller amounts and later swap those into a single on-chain UTXO

My guess: there is no "best"

That's awesome!

Maybe you can move around the player-buttons/qr-code a little, so they don't interfere with eachother when not on fullscreen.

I can't even create a playlist though while logged in with alby browser-extension, guess I have to "create an account" huh?

"nostr fixes this" they said.
