Unfuck the Internet is strictly not a Bitcoin meetup. We intentionally avoid talking about Bitcoin directly. Instead, we offer a framework for evaluating everyday tech — to help people judge whether it’s built for freedom or not.
Most people who show up are privacy enthusiasts. And I’ve noticed something interesting: after hanging out with Bitcoiners at Unfuck, they often become more open to Bitcoin — not as "crypto," but as freedom tech.
I've been refining this framework for a while, and I think it's finally coming together.
The Freedom Tech Checklist
✓ Self-Generated Identity: No permission needed to participate
✓ End-to-End Encryption: Only you can read your private data
✓ Data Integrity: Authentic, and tamper-proof public data
✓ Open Source: Code is public and verifiable
✓ Self-Hostable: You control where your data lives or goes through
✓ Protocols > Platforms/Products: Freedom to choose different interoperable apps
See you all there!
This event is specifically for the nocoiner privacy enthusiasts.
Bengaluru has plenty of folks skeptical of "crypto" — but very open to conversations around privacy, digital well-being, and freedom tech.
Let the cross pollination begin

Check this out
https://bitcoin.design/guide/how-it-works/human-readable-addresses/
It uses DNS TXT records to add your silent payments and BOLT12 address which is then accessible via a lighting address like identifier. I don't entirely like the idea for some reasons but found it interesting
Life hasn't been any more difficult than this, but I can't believe how much I am enjoying it.
I got depressed after watching the first season sometimes in 2020, took me like a week to get out of it
+ Interoperability. the reason i found nostr much more interesting over other systems like hypercore and web5 is that data generated by one app works with all the other apps as well (at least in an ideal scenario)
Anyone tried making a nostr and blossom based node package manager and registry?
For Hindi speakers, Abhay and I are starting a (very minimal effort) podcast about freedom tech - nostr, Bitcoin etc
Do check it out if you understand the language
I stopped a couple of years ago. The experience is horrible. Domestic flights offer a really good experience for the price that they charge
What causes someone to be transgender? Are there multiple factors? Some mental condition (gender dysphoria?), hormonal imbalance, sexual kinks for some people, and people who are genuinely born with the brain of the opposite sex?
In India, the majority of transgender people you'll see are men dressed as women, going around begging for money from shops and vehicles in traffic stops (hijras). When travelling by train, if you are on in an AC couch, one of the biggest issues is these trans beggars getting into your coach on every stop and harassing you for money. They seem to have their own religious beliefs and rituals like a cult also the majority end up getting into sex work at some point
I stay in Bengaluru to I have taken many trains from here to Guwahati to visit my family in the past 6 years. There are about 40 places where the trains slows down significantly or comes to a complete stop. The number of times a trans has tried to grab my dick, or put their hands inside my pants, while sleeping at night during the train rides is countless. I am pretty sure most of them don't even believe they are women, but that's just something that their cult requires them to do
Certainly! [...]
I apologize for the confusion [...]
makes me want to kick it in the nuts
