Well, it's a tool that allows you to get crash reports, feedback that doesn't affect your play store rating and the user clearly knows he's running a Zeus-signed apk without having to figure out how to verify that on his own. I would use it while also offering the APK for those who chose to de-google their phones.
Are you familiar with PlayStore beta testing? You could control how many people test new versions there and make it easy for everyone to try it out from the PlayStore.
It was not outdated 20s ago when I tried it out with Zeus on Android. I see it's in the process of getting outdated but that's slightly a different thing. I'll hold off to herding followers into Zeus as long as they themselves consider it not ready.
I started Zeus on my phone to make sure I wasn't wrong. How do I join the beta on Android? Opt in to beta testing? I don't see that option on that app.
To be fair, Zeus is not a complete wallet. It's a wallet UI to control a wallet you already have somewhere else.
Who got rugged?
If your business model depended on WOS being in the US, ok, you got rugged.
If you have to move your 500sats to a different wallet now, ... you were not rugged.
In fact, existing users aren't even affected yet. Yes, they should cash out before that door closes but they can still zap and get zapped. KYC will probably be required for those who wait too long.
When your business idea requires licensing, leave it to others. Build something decentralized instead.

50°C is "cool" for a miner but hot for a couch. I don't see a problem there. You would need some foam that lets the air through but not the noise.

As long as you control that, you probably can withdraw in some way. If enough people or funds are affected, they will probably provide some form to withdraw without installing the app.
An apk from a third-party source could be verified by any user with access to the app on the Play Store by checking for compatibility. So imagine I give you the version 4 apk and your friend in Norway can install the version 5 apk from Play Store. He now can install my apk and update it in the play app. If that works, both were signed by the same keys.
You can check the signature without installing it but that's a bit more involved for the layperson.
Many people love WoS and especially in nostr it's very popular as it's no fun to get zaps without it. Yeah, even I have one of their addresses but do we know who to go after if something goes terribly wrong? I see it's an Australian registered company but I see no faces. Who's behind it? Is there any audits of their financials? How much money do they manage? I get it, it's not meant to be used for your life savings but still, there's always a Pareto distribution so while you and I might hold less than $10, a certain percentage of users might hold significant sums in the wallet.
And even if not, what's the point of tipping WoS to WoS if the plug can be pulled at any time. They brag about 13 million payments made but that's 13 million payments that can be turned meaningless and a waste of time in an instant.
Please, if you are a net receiver of zaps, withdraw your sats frequently. Lets promote alternatives. Let's get more diverse.

Custodians are getting more heat. WoS would probably need a license to operate as the money transmitter they are.
Can you elaborate how somebody might have funds in WoS without having it installed? Also it's not like you can't install it. I can send you the APK right here.

Maybe it would make more sense to integrate the unit in a sofa. Imagine the cushions taking the noise and being heated from below.
