Building Ghostr

We need a TikTok clone with watermarks, annoying audio, and an animation at the end ("See more on Olas/Nostr"). Nostr must stop being "the purest whore in the brothel" and embrace guerrilla marketing tactics. Survival depends on it.

Dude, I just logged into nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 from mobile for the first time and I was thinking “crap, I don’t want to post my nsec up here and I can’t use Alby.”

Then I saw “login with DM” and had never paid attention to it. Clicked, got a DM, pasted verification. BOOM logged in.

I love Nostr tech. The future is going to be so cool

That's genius

every time i use chachi.chat, which is awesome by the way, reminds me of a family wedding about 10 years ago.

after the wedding reception ended. we went back to the hotel and commandeered the hotel bar and turned it into one hell of an after party. we took over the entire hotel bar and lobby area. music was bumping. drinks were flowing. good times were being had. our wedding party and family of roughly 50 people were having a blast.

then a random guy showed up at the bar. he watched me buy a round of shots for about 12 family members and he wanted one.

i included him and got him one. he told me that his name was 'Chachi'. he said that he wanted to do another round and he would buy the next round.

after that round, i told him he was now part of the family. so, he bought everyone a third round. i told him some stories, as you do when you're drinking. (have we drank alcohol together? you will understand this part of my personality. im a story teller.)

this Chachi guy was just like me, a real partier, a real story teller, he became my new best friend. we were making sure everyone was having a good time. walking around to every little group, mingling.

my aunt comes up to me and tells me she's very impressed how i got some random guy to buy 2 rounds of shots for all of us. i said, i bet if i buy another round, he'd buy another round of drinks for everyone. i was confident he'd do it. after all, he was like me.

i bought another round and sure enough, he bought the next.

things at this point get a little blurry at this point...

long story short, the next morning when we came downstairs to get breakfast, Chachi was sleeping on the hotel lobby couch.

classic Chachi.

we had a good time discussing the previous night's happenings, laughing, reminiscing, and saying our goodbyes.

i was a little sad that i'd never see Chachi again. after all, we got along so very well the night before.

about 2 months later, one of my cousin's saw Chachi at a bowling alley. she went up to him saying calling Chachi, Chachi, etc. his friends looked at him like who the hell is this random girl yelling at you a name that is clearly not your name.

LOL!

classic Chachi.

This is great! You got married and gained a lifelong friend. That’s a win!

Dumb thought: if the Nostr public key convention had a couple of initial bytes to indicate which key schema it is (the kind of cryptography it's using), then we could have more flexibility and use #pubky and other stuff that uses different kinds of elliptic curves.

It's difficult to say. Each person responds differently—some may be more open to listening when they're down, while others might never listen to you again.
