The amount pegged into LBTC is verifiable, Fedi is not. Companies have more skin in the game than anon guardians to keep their users whole. Privacy is better on Fedi, no block chain but that comes with no verification which requires more trust

If youre ok with command line you can directly send a joinmarket utxo to open a channel, or channels, with BOS. Takes one transaction instead of two. I do it with a Mynode setup whenever I need to. Works great!
