A personal credo of mine (most frequently in business) has been, “I’d rather know and have it be bad than not know.” If I know, I can act. I think the problem is we have no way of knowing the relative scale of what is presented to us in relation to reality. A historical graph of this relationship paralleling historical events would likely reveal a VERY interesting story.
