I also came to this realization that bitcoiner doesn’t always equal libertarian and doesn’t even equal open- minded person oftentimes. I’d say even here on Nostr there are ppl who are just plain conservatives with quite rigid world-views, strong feeling of self-righteousness and very low level of self-doubt. I suppose for them love for freedom only means love for personal freedom that btc holding gives but doesn’t mean recognizing that other ppl were not created to accommodate their individual believe systems. Sometimes “otherness” of the world around us and ppl who are not me :) is annoying and even frustrating , I know that and everyone knows that. But allowing others to live how they wish to live (given that these others don’t threaten your property, rights and safety) is one of the pre-requisites to be happy in this world of ours :) I wrote this longish, totally unnecessary note, but everything I wanted to say really is that I want Noshole and Roja to come back to us .

I know that this is the outcome desired by powerful people, but I was thinking more about the mindset of the farmers themselves. I wonder how many can even make the connection that 40 years ago they had row crops, a little orchard, a couple steers and a little flock of ewes, some ducks by the pond and a couple pigs or dozen chickens. Now they just have row crops and a weekly grocery bill buying stuff trucked in from another state that they used to make themselves or have made locally. I work in a lot of people's houses in a rural area and I often see the old aerial photos of farmsteads, there used to be so many little things going on besides corn, beans and maybe wheat. I wonder how many even remember what they gave up.

My husband recently observed to me how important conditioning is for people to accept things as normal.

He said that when he first began reading my articles, he was like “Okay but I mean, fiat currency censorship isn’t really *that bad* as you describe”. But then in the years that followed, he was like “oh shit, it actually is. The fact that we have to ask permission to access significant amounts of our own money at banks and say what we will do with it is fucking insane. Why is this normal now?”

In Europe especially but also elsewhere, it’s increasingly common to make cash transactions illegal above a certain threshold value. Above that value, you have to go through centralized, surveilled, corporate/government systems, or you’re doing an illegal transaction.

That seems absolutely insane if introduced out of nowhere, but instead it has been introduced gradually through conditioning and so people are like, “well I don’t use cash anyway so that’s okay I guess, in fact I don’t even know that’s a law now”.

The same is generally true for social media. Filtering communications through centralized pipes is actually a radical position but it’s increasingly the new normal. In fact, the centralization of banking and communications in the hands of the state were two of their ten steps proposed in the Communist Manifesto.
