Banks are useful to society for financing business projects and taking on the risks of lending money.
Their tokens (taproot assets) could be issued as e-cash. On your ecash wallet you could have multiple tokens, exchangeable and convertible to sats, from different banks and earn interest or just hodl the sats if you don't care financing the economy.
The problem is the central banks, not the private ones. To seperate government and money, it's the central banks that must be removed.
Each lightning node is already a potential private bank if you add Lndhub or Lnbits to it⚡️🚀
I'd say that lightning is perfect for private banks that could easily rollout the service to their customers and that it removes the need for central banks since there's no need for money printing anymore☕️🐸

I see people recommending nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm to new users still. And Alby is great, no denying it. But it is no longer "New User" friendly. I am of course assuming new users do not have 100k sats or more to open up channels and get going.
What is the absolute newb way now? There is @Primal which gives a wallet on mobile, but it can't be used on the web as far as I can tell.
Alby was so easy, we really need something we can suggest to fill the void.
