If the sailing lifestyle isn’t proof of work I don’t know what is?

To get here in this moment of time we spent five months working 10hrs a day 7 days a week preparing the boat. The Pacific is no joke it’s around 8,000nm from Panama to the east coast of Australia. Sailing those miles is relentless as the ocean, wind and the unpredictable Mother Nature constantly wear at the boat and crew trying to find their weakest point.

On the 11th of March we departed Panama bound for French Polynesia and we’re still out here over three weeks later sailing toward French Polynesia.

There’s only my wife and I onboard and one of us has to be awake and on watch the entire time we are sailing. Trimming the sheets and altering the heading doesn’t stop out here. Watching the weather, making water and keeping the boats electrical systems and power working is a constant concern that never goes away. Without it we aren’t f$&ked but it would definitely make life a lot harder.

The boats powered by 1.3kw of solar and this along with the wind is what’s powered and propelled us the entire way. It’s powering my phone and our sat comms to send this #sailstr #nostr #note.

Before departing my wife organised months and months worth of provisioning. She made lists and spent days sourcing all the food and items we’d need. I bought spares and tried to think of all the situations we’d need to cover. For sure you can’t envision everything but you do your best gained from the years of experience you have.

This is my fourth Pacific crossing however it’s by far the best. To be doing this two up with my wife on our new home has been a gift.

Being at sea for weeks on end gives one clarity and space within their minds. It shows you what’s truly important and where to focus one’s time and energy.

This clarity has confirmed what we’ve always felt and known and that’s that #Bitcoin is the key that will change the world and with its positive incentives it’ll make a fair and inspiring place for us all to live and grow together working towards a common goal, bettering the world for all.

It empowers the individual to do better and to be better and it gives us all a base of truth to build upon that will bring us together.

To steal a nostr:npub15dqlghlewk84wz3pkqqvzl2w2w36f97g89ljds8x6c094nlu02vqjllm5m quote “Bitcoin is hope”

And from nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a “I woke up

Today and chose rhetoric” our promise to Bitcoin and its community is that we will continue to educate people far and wide and to help awaken the world to the power of Bitcoin a monetary system based upon rules not rulers.

Here’s a few pics below of the last few days. We’re hoping to arrive on Sunday which will mean we’ve done over 24 days proof of work getting here and that’s what makes this lifestyle and way of travel so unique and rewarding ⛵️

Best wishes to all from the Pacific and man is it beautiful out here this place is so worth fighting for 😁🤙

Always nice reading your updates nostr:npub1mq4frcgpx9ctzr98lg8vsq8aphrwjv6mwrps8kkm5cplcd5q9d0sx23uw3 !

I’ve got a few posts to do as well, good news are on the way 😜

Sail safe!

Hope to go to Thailand one day with my sailboat… but it’s half way around the world, so I might take time ><

Where is this place? Do you have some history behind this monument?

Our Liberty is at risk once again with the rise of facial recognition used by authorities worldwide. Great article from « Rest of the World » :

https://restofworld.org/2024/facial-recognition-government-protest-surveillance/

Notre liberté est en danger une nouvelle fois avec l’utilisation massive de la reconnaissance faciale. Les abus de pouvoir et les dérives se multiplient. Nous devons collectivement agir pour contrôler nos gouvernements.

Thanks for the tip, I will look into that ruler. 🙏🏻

I’ve bought a Moody 40 from 1979, which was refitted by the previous owner.

With my wife we wanted to travel even more than before (we were doing a lot of treks), and with my passion for sea and southern Corsica, it just made sense to try the sailing option!

So we’re gonna discover eastern Mediterranean this season!

And you guys, where are you atm and what’s your plans?

Alongside our sailing adventure that’s gonna start soon (see previous posts), I want to start sharing my passion for photography and shooting videos while traveling the world by foot or sailboat.

For years I’ve been shooting on my trips around France, Europe, and even India, capturing great moments and memories.

I enjoyed so much sharing some of my best work with friends and family, with prints of my best pictures, or short films.

I feel now that I want to share more broadly and nostr feels like the best place to start just that, by offering a chance to more people to experience nature, mountains, seas, wildlife and biodiversity through my eyes. So here I am, sharing my first picture.

This is a male Ibex (or bouquetin in French), shot on the mountain « La Tournette » above Annecy at about 2000m (6500 ft). We were on our way to the top (about 2500m or 8200ft), when my wife SaltyLady (npub1y49llvlzsyasffesyy3k9u39zqp4rwawjpgh9jy2xu6yah04lssq46wk85) and I stumbled upon this lone huge male Ibex grazing peacefully.

We often encountered lots of Ibexes and other wildlife while hiking in the area, but never had we met one that big and that close.

I love how this shot captures this glimpse of connection between him and us, moments before we just went on his own business.. grazing.

I hope this made you travel a bit and feel how we are all connected, humans, living creatures, nature. Oneness

If you would like the see other pictures of this ibex, or a video of the environment or even another subject, please let me know.

Interesting study of the impact on Ibex of the changing environnement : https://www.sciencealert.com/this-species-is-slowly-becoming-nocturnal-for-a-very-disturbing-reason

Hiking and mountaineering around the alps for the last 8 years as really made me love cartography and navigation. I’m now applying this passion to sailing. With our « high seas » permit, my wife and I are ready to move on to our boat in 15 days! Can’t wait to apply those skills to the real world. ⛵️

Indeed preparation is kind of an adventure as well ! You should be onboard in 15 days and sailing of in a bit more than a month 🤞🏻🙏🏻
