Becoming a sovereign individual with sovereign computing thanks to nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll: Building your own server for hosting things like file storage thanks to #Nextcloud, a #Bitcoin full node, a #lightening node on a refurbished Dell Optiplex Mini PC, with Start9 OS lowers the barrier of entry.
In the digital age, becoming a sovereign individual means reclaiming control over your digital assets, data, and privacy. One powerful way to achieve this is by running your own server, especially with privacy-focused tools like Start9 OS. #degoogle your life and no more need for iCloud.
You can do all this without needing any linux command line knowledge or breaking the bank, for example using a refurbished Dell Optiplex Mini PC for as little as $200. Host the Bitcoin Core code base on Gitea running on your self-hosted StartOS server. We all know the importance of having multiple copies of the ledger, but what about the code base itself. Github is owned by Microsoft and could cause a lot of disruption if they decided to attack Bitcoin Core. Start9 has a great tutorial teaching you how to install Gitea and mirror Bitcoin Core's repository

I see the words of the Bible coming to pass at an exponential rate: “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:1–7, ESV)
