If #Bitcoin is the future, we can't have it be transacted mainly through captured devices. Much more freedom tech is required, especially a mobile phone (hardware + software) that doesn't require a PhD to set up
The same thing is likely to happen on #nostr, if it grows by a few orders of magnitude. It will require some clever thinking, to figure out how to effectively fight spam/junk on an uncensorable protocol
Engagement is the wrong metric
When money won't be able to be insidiously confiscated through inflation, the hope I've heard people express is that governments will curb their expenditures, because taxation is much more visible and highly unpopular.
Somewhat agree, but the past few years have shown us that governments are perfectly comfortable carrying out unpopular measures, and the hungry apparatus will likely seek to replace the lost funding through high taxation.
Good luck, it rambles on quite a bit - could only get myself to skim through it. The main thesis is pretty unconvincing to me, but the book does bring up a lot of interesting concepts that got me thinking, so I found some value in it.

For example, I would like to have a feed containing both "latest, my follows" and "trending, my network" . @`miljan`
I agree with the idea of personal responsibility as a keystone. It seems insufficient though. Somehow there also needs to be a kind of responsibility beyond yourself and your family, otherwise problems created by others (which you decided were not your responsibility) just fester and grow, and all of a sudden they're everyone's problem through sheer scale or magnitude.
For instance, the central bank is poisoning the economy and therefore society, but it's hard to see how personal responsibility could have stopped it from doing so.
