If we have hope, let us not be deceived that hope in ourselves or that hope in any person, place or thing is the answer. As good as a positive mental attitude, healthy body, mind and spirit connection is important, if in our best thinking we become wise in our own eyes... we have failed. Man's chief end (like it or not, believe or not) is to glorify God, to give God the glory He alone deserves. Can you create a baby? Did man create stone, the oceans, stars? Can man control the wind?

Man in our folly believe we control many of these things that in truth we do not. Man believes he is inherently good, another false hope. Only because of the finished work of Christ can we even have hope to understand the depravity of our souls, the sinfulness of our true nature and why idolatry is so rampant. Yes, even bitcoin. Bitcoin can be an idol. I've asked myself this question. Ask yourself that question. Can Bitcoin save souls. It IS a technology, a digital asset that many of hope (including me) that it will replace broken money. Many will choose to go all in on orange money, but at the 30,000 foot perspective, let us not make it an idol. Do what you can, stack sats, stay humble. Man has work to do, civilizations to build, families to feed and choices to make about whom we will serve: idol worship of digital technology or the Living God of the universe. It's a good question to be in. We also have a new generation to train up in this way, babies to be blessed by. Touch grass, enjoy time with your loved ones. Live your best life.

Living and working in this way we vote with our feet. Exiting the old system can be a high and narrow road, but I'll take a guess that many of us are here because it is a path to something better.

I thank our nostr and bitcoin devs for creating this opportunity, this technology we can migrate to. Be encouraged by the many who are coming to join freedom tech. Be encouraged that the Lord Jesus Christ is working right now at the right hand of God, bringing bitcoin to the creative minds of technology developers. If God knows how many hairs are on your head, how many grains of sand on a beach, he knows the issues and struggles of every one of us. Let us give him the glory only He deserves.

“Active courage is a steadiness and bravery of mind that is undaunted at opposition or threatening dangers. Passive valor is that constancy of soul that enables us to bear sufferings without repinings or outward tokens of sinking or despondency.”

This is from an article on holy courage where Sir Isaac Watts contrasts two forms of Christian courage. The point is that the Christian must not remain in himself but should strive to actively trust God and love others. In this active obedience steadfast faith and courage increases. I would add that there is indeed good reason to trust God and not ourselves. Regarding man: Don’t trust, verify. 🦾 None of us is worthy. No, not even one.

Maybe that should have read I definitely need more friends on #nostr

I definitely need more friends on nostr!

Imagine a medium sized community with many buildings of different shapes, designs and purposes. Each building housed a small group of people who would teach and train you up on all the fun and useful things their software or hardware does. All you had to do was stop in and ask.

Though I’ve not been to bitcoin park, variations of this might look like similar. It could also look like a conference trade booth venue as cheesy as that sounds, or it could be all housed in one building. The point is anyone could visit anytime and learn as much as they could handle at a time. Creativity could abound at a place like this for nostr and Bitcoin.

It doesn’t have to be bricks and mortar of course, but to educate in the order of magnitude that’s needed, a bricks and mortar place that is marketed well is not a bad idea. The real question is would developers and founders send or rotate some team members of their team to be resources and educate. Think permanent conference on Bitcoin and nostr.

In terms of teaching my generation, think like kindergarten class for adults 😂. Boomers have our own difficulty adjustment 🐢 but there are some of us that 🧡 Bitcoin

I recently saw this. A reminder of the man who wished to confiscate American citizens gold. On a more positive note, though the Civilian Conservation Corps was a government program to get our people working again, it was reminded me of proof of work. Proof of work in the sense that, for example, the Hoover Dam was proof that it could be built, was built and stands today. Americans had to figure out how to build stuff and get it done. 🦾

nostr:npub103m96sra82w4agghew9cdxtzs4s8sl7qsjsvw6h653yml0gjrkzqefd3h5 I listened recently to Jor’s Daily Bitcoin Journey and he reminded me of how fast things are starting ramp up, corruption, FUD, and it reminded me of class 5 whitewater rafting: I know that in the flats and boring times that we are approaching known rapids and potentially dangerous situations ahead. What does this mean and how to prepare?

I can remember that this isn’t my first rodeo, “difficulty adjustment” old be another way of saying “keep your powder dry”. Sometimes the best move is to not make a move but to be humble and thankful for what I’ve been given stewardship over. Navigating the big water can be helpful to have trusted friends. I look forward to making more of these as we navigate toward big water.💦

nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 Such a good point. Let’s make weddings great again. In fact how about more commitment to living the amazingly abundant life with a spouse and many children.

Question regarding laser eyes. Is it a rite of passage that one learns how to get the eyes to beam lasers like that? Asking for a friend, who wants laser eyes. Not FOMO, just the added ZZZZ to the eyes. Makes for much stronger better faster seeing.

Are you bullish enough? Not nearly enough. Preparing to exit fiat economy is the way toward the light. Run, Forest, run!

I think I’m here for good. I’m here and definitely want to do good. For good. We good?

Hey, anyone here on nostr? This week’s going to be a good one!!

Flooring. Assuming you have concrete, check out https://directcolors.com/ they’re having a sale. Not affiliated with them nor make anything off it. I did my concrete patio and it looks fantastic. For garage floor I would stay away from solvent based, go with Colorwave (low VOC’s), followed by a sealer. Their customer service is great too. Makes it look fantastic.

I know that may not be the suggestion you were looking for but, it’s a nice element for garages or outdoor concrete. Peace, love and stack sats in humility.

Nostr friends and many more not yet friends, this guy Jor brings value and is a good dude. Invite your noob and prebitcoiner freinds to watch his show on zap.stream

I find that nostr makes me curious because I’m finding new things about it constantly. One of you will do/create something I didn’t see coming and that makes me more curious. That’s the thing about it: curious, more curious, and… curiouser

Why is the wallet connection part of nostr so difficult to get right? More specifically, is there a nostr protocol for connecting wallets? I ask because on some clients it seems to integrate smoothly and others it doesn’t seem to go well, OR I mistakenly think it’s connected and working, and then nope. Curious and more curious, but always stacking sats and knowledge whenever possible.

What I can surely say is, that #Nostr is here to stay. The idea of a decentralized future and our right to speak freely is inevitable. Ever since I’ve been on here my highest goal has been to support this still very little network of people as good as I can. Especially after such a big conference it’s a great deal to encourage people to contribute here.

I want to share some of my thoughts with you. About how you can support Nostr right now. Spread its importance and let it thrive. Add something if you got some thoughts on that.

💜 Ask questions. Nostr can still be very confusing but people are happy to help. I mean, we all know something and we will find out together and learn. No matter how stupid your question may seem, it isn’t. It’s helpful. Asking a question might look unaesthetic in your profile, but asking questions is human. Be human, the Nostrworld needs curiosity. Notes or events could be seen as a part of a big and endless flowing river. Flow with it.

💜 Share/Build stuff just for fun. Since Nostr is still in a very playful state. It’s sometimes hard to notice that you actually reach people. Or it feels like it’s just a few & you put it in relation to the work you put in. It can be very relieving to post out of pure joy for the protocol or for the thing you want to share. Without expecting too much. When you’re creating on Nostr today, you have to put lots of effort in, so make sure it’s fun.

💜 Engage. Engagement is like the heartbeat of the Nostr-Network. If you decide to be online, make sure to engage a little, so the creators feel seen. We’re social beings, & some may need more feedback than others, this is something we shouldn’t underestimate especially in this early state. No feedback is also feedback, support what you can identify with.

💜 Be the Nostr you want to see in the world. Your own perception of the protocol matters. While we all have very varying perceptions, we are naturally supposed to find the next best consensus. Try to imagine nostr in the future. Where do you see it? Contribute. Share your thoughts!

💜 Connect. Build community. Nostr is not just a new decentralized protocol, I view it as a massive innovation in online interaction. The future is not just bright, it will be different. And to grow the world towards that difference, connect with the people to inspire and to encourage each other to do better.

💜 Take time. To revolutionize the online social networks, I think it’s important to take your time when you engage or when you build. Behind every Npub there is a person with believes, believing something brings a more likely inflexible energy with it. If you decide to discuss the believes of others because they’ve decided to share them, it can be helpful to be open minded and to take your time to listen and to respond mindfully. Patience is power, whether you talk to others or when you build something. Just like ignoring and moving on.

💜 Talk about the other stuff. While Nostr got many social clients already, the other stuff may exceeds your imagination. Think about everything you need an identity for. Who knows where we’re going, but we’re becoming more decentralized to fight censorship and to bring more natural interaction into the online world.

💜 Onboard. Even if you’re unsuccessful. Bring it into the mind of people. This new technology is hard to explain. It takes a lot of time and a lot of minds to form the „What is Nostr?“ question. Don’t be afraid, be convinced. Trust in the future and the people.

💜 Every individual serves different purposes, realize your light and share it with us. Contribute in a way that aligns with you.✨🫂

It was a great experience to meet Nostriches, trying to onboard new Nostriches and listening to the different perspectives on Nostr at the BTC-Prague conference! Thanks for all the inspiration and encouragement. Love you guys. Let’s grow #TheNostr 💜🌱

Ok here’s a question: why is it that my nostr client (Primal) on desktop profile doesn’t have my avatar (but has my background) while the mobile app version of same does have my avatar?

I was at an extended family gathering for the Eid al-Adha holiday today. At these gatherings, the older generation in this family tends to not speak great English, so they normally speak among themselves in Arabic, while the younger generation speaks English, with some periods where we all speak together and my husband translates.

The center of this gathering was a newborn baby. My husband’s cousin had a child, and he was so cute and we took turns holding him and playing with him.

The oldest uncle is a retired doctor and although he normally speaks in Arabic among his peers, he actually speaks fluent English as well when there is context for it, since he used to live and work abroad. But he rarely speaks at these gatherings, in either Arabic or English. It’s a running joke that he is grumpy and rarely has much to say, and just kind of zones out at these things. Sometimes when people ask him what he is thinking, he makes a dry concise joke or a funny brief criticism of someone with like a stone cold expression. So usually at least once someone asks him, just to see what kind of grumpy thing he will say in response, since you never know what it’ll be but it’s never boring.

When the family was figuring out which coast town we should take a vacation to in a couple weeks, the uncle was quiet and eventually someone asked him what his choice is, and he sarcastically said “El Arish” which is the Egyptian coast town right near Gaza, to be a buzzkill. The joke being that it’s an obviously bad choice for a vacation.

A while later when people were talking about movies, he was again doing his zoned out expression, so my husband and cousin were whispering to me to ask him what he’s thinking about this time. I was hesitant but they were like, “do it, it’ll be great.”

So I asked what he’s thinking about. With his perfect English, he’s like, “You and Mohamed should have a child by the time you visit us next year. You’re getting old.”

Everyone was like, “…oh shit” since they thought he would say a bad movie or tell me I watch too many movies or something. One cousin was like, “uncle, they will when and if they are ready!”

But the uncle continued. “You two think you are busy now, but it only gets worse from here. The older you get the harder it will be, and you’re already getting old. Both of you are too smart and overthinking it, waiting for a perfect moment that will never come. If you two wait too long, you might not be able to do it, or there’s a higher chance the child will have health problems. Just do it now, while you are still in your mid-thirties, don’t let yourself get any older. And if you don’t do it, naught but regret and darkness awaits.”

So everyone was facepalming, since this was not the direction they were expecting. I was like, “thank you for the blunt advice, we will consider it! 😅”

One aunt who doesn’t speak English asked what he said, so one cousin said, “He called her a hag, basically.”

Lyn, what I love about the older generation is that they’re kind of like children in this sense: they really don’t care what others think, and they’re happy to let the words fly, filter free. It’s cool when its G rated and kids are near. One of the best gifts you can give children is the older generation who can teach them wisdom. Such good stuff many don’t see the value in. I’ll pray for you as I hope you can be blessed with a little one(s) if you desire. Thanks for sharing.
