Here Are the New iPhone Charging Limit Options in iOS 18

Apple has introduced expanded charging limit options for iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models in iOS 18, offering users more control over their device's battery health. This feature, which previously capped charging at 80%, now includes new 85%, 90%, and 95% options.

The system Apple has applied aims to improve battery longevity by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged. Apple says the feature can be particularly beneficial for users who frequently keep their devices plugged in for extended periods.

Here's how to use these new settings to potentially extend your ‌iPhone‌'s battery lifespan.

Open the Settings app on your ‌iPhone‌.

Tap Battery.

Select Charging.

Choose your preferred charging limit from the available options: 80%, 85%, 90%, and 95%.

When deciding on a charging limit, consider your daily usage patterns. If you often have access to charging throughout the day, a lower limit like 80% or 85% might suffice. For those who need more battery life between charges, the 90% or 95% options could be more suitable.

Remember, you can always adjust these settings as your needs change. If you're planning a long day away from power sources, you might temporarily disable the limit to get a full charge.

Charging Recommendations

In addition, ‌iOS 18‌ takes this feature a step further by proactively recommending a specific charging limit based on your usage habits. If you have an ‌iPhone 15‌ or ‌iPhone 16‌, expect to receive a notification after a while suggesting an optimal charging limit for your device. The recommendation will also appear in the Settings app under Battery → Charging.

It's worth noting that this ‌iOS 18‌ feature remains exclusive to the ‌iPhone 15‌ lineup and the upcoming ‌iPhone 16‌ lineup. Users of iPhone 14 Pro or older models will not find these options in their settings.

The more I use iOS, the more I begin to realize they are no different from any other company.

There’s nothing whatsoever to prevent them from bringing this to older device, the same with the cycle count. There’s no reason that shouldn’t be available as well other than trying to force people to upgrade.

I would expect tactics like this from a smaller company, not a multi trillion dollar business/

Shame on you, Apple.

Coming in for a landing…😊

The value is definitely there. You can also purchase a yearly subscription or even a lifetime license, further reducing the overall price of the subscription.

Though the latter is a bit steep, in the long run, it is definitely worth it. As far as the availability in other countries, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, but I would run it by them first, just to make sure, so you’re not wasting any money.

There are chat rooms from different parts of the world, so I feel positive that it is available elsewhere.

Stopping in briefly for a PSA.

T o all of the noobs who are finding onboarding more difficult than you anticipated, I highly suggest y’all check out the nostr:npub1ve8qwrlztemdmnh62jffcr0y9m9dpqgqjdg8ufx7gc3qw5wdk74qyv9ka6. You have to subscribe to even test it out, but I guarantee you will not regret it.

Not only will you find specialized chat groups to discuss bitcoin, you will also find a lot of information focused on nothing but bitcoin events and merchants, where you can spend your bitcoin if you so choose.

The app is designed in such a way that even if this is your first day investing in.BTC, you will be able to find all of the information you need, without having to go to a bunch of websites.

There is also a section specialized with people from the industry that can help explain things to you as well. You need bitcoin advice? There is someone to answer your questions. You want to learn about mining, there is someone for that as well.

I know this app works because it has worked for me. Almost 3 months on here and I feel like I have been going around in circles. Compare that to two days on the OPA and for the first time, I actually feel like I am making forward progress.

Wouldn’t that prevent you from getting updates from people’s posts you have commented on? I mean, if they’re not your friend, that sounds exactly like what it would do. Not really a good option.

I do find it ironic that this post has been spammed to hell.😂

it can only be used with a pixel because it’s the only device that will allow you to install a custom os and relock the bootloader. Here’s the thing though, a thief could steal your device, unlock it again, which wipes everything, and now your device is theirs.

This is possible because the ORM unlock toggle is still turned on. Now, you could turn it off, but if graphene screws up an update, you’re pretty much screwed and can’t even return to stock because you can’t turn that switch back on without the device being bootable.

It’s a catch 22. Turn it off and you risk ending up with a brick or keep it on and risk someone coming along and showing you how unsecured your device really is.

it doesn’t need a hardware backdoor when the front door is wide open.

yeah, I don’t think anyone saw this coming.😂

Boomers thought Gen X would be the end of civilization due to the “devil” music we listened to. This seems pale in comparison to the shit this generation does.🤣

Just finished watching beetle juice 2 and it was as bad as I thought it would be, even without the two zoomers in it.

You would think that a 30 year hiatus would be plenty of time to write a cohesive script, I guess not. 🤦🏻‍♂️ #nostr

Random shit talking post for the day, running grapheneOS isn’t as safe as you think it is.

Sure, it’s secure, blah blah blah, but does nothing to secure your actual device.

All I need to do is run the fastboot flashing lock/unlock command and your device is now mine.

This is possible because the OEM unlock toggle is still turned on. I know it’s still turned on because it would be foolish for you to turn it off while running a custom OS.

Maybe the merchants tab as well. It’s nice to see so many services accepting bitcoin but it doesn’t really do me any good if the service is over a thousand miles away. #[2]
