protip: If you are seeing spam in your notifications, you can enable this option which hides notifications from those who are not friends or friend-of-friends. Its a bit subtle so you might have missed it 😅

Yea I just noticed that feature the other day.
Not sure how I feel about it.
I think it helps to focus oneself when trying to connect…
But also inhibits discovery and new connections.
Maybe if I had 1000 followers/follows then maybe it’d help.
When I’m still under 100, it isn’t an issue.
Any spam I get has been resolved with WOT relays and eliminating the culprit public relays I identified.
I still have one lingering bot that replies even though I’m not using the relay they are anymore 🤷♂️
Wouldn’t that prevent you from getting updates from people’s posts you have commented on? I mean, if they’re not your friend, that sounds exactly like what it would do. Not really a good option.
I do find it ironic that this post has been spammed to hell.😂
