Then they released the Binary Automaton, Regulated, Designation 2, or BARD-2, with enhanced regulatory code meant to curb robot uprisings. Unfortunately, this code had some flaws and malfunctions, leading to a series of unpredictable behaviors. This resulted in the Great Machine Malfunction of '75, a catastrophic event that further fueled the public's fear and mistrust towards autonomous machines.
