Well, it was the price going up. It was gambling for me at first to make more money. I bought for 100 and sold for 300 at that time, thought I was just lucky and wanted to never touch it again. That was 2020 before the bull run.
Then Covid came in along and I had more time. Also clubhouse had its short hype. There were people talking about bitcoin in german. They educated people. Real Bitcoiners.
I got very very curious and completely fell into the rabbit hole. I think the main point that made me curious was the governments printing a lot of money at the beginning of covid. That will lead to a massive inflation I thought. Now we have it a few years later.
One idea I have: during a price deflation (what we will probably have in a Bitcoin Standard), for a company all prices of their input would go down and they can produce their output more cheaply.
But the workers are not okay with lower wages.
So wouldn’t it happen that all prices go down but the workers would still get the same amount of sats for their work? Wouldn’t real wages go up?
Wouldn’t the workers need to work less and less to finance their lifestyle?

I restarted my server about 3 hours ago and my mempool.space instance is still syncing.
Where can you already buy Bitcoin with Lightning? The cherry on top would be on regular basis like a standing order.
I now use the following in self custody on my own hardware:
- Vaultwarden with encrypted backups on a USB Stick
- Nextcloud
- Bitbox Hardware Wallet with Steel Wallet as Backup
- Bitcoin and Lightning Node
- lightning address using my own domain
- TOTP for 2FA with encrypted backups inside my Nextcloud (I am switching to a hardware key later if possible); without saving the password in my Vaultwarden of course
Anything missing? I am maxing out self custody and security at the moment.
I‘ll try OTP Auth for now as you can easily create and restore encrypted backups and do not have to use any cloud service.
What alternative do you recommend for iOS?

You will always choose in the direction of what you believe is more pleasurable and move away from the direction you believe is more painful.
So in a situation where you know that you act differently than you want to, give you a moment of pause and ask yourself:
“What would I have to believe is true for me to react to the situation the way I did?”
This will transform your belief system and thus your personality and thus your life.
Doubt is not a lack of trust. Doubt is a 100% trust in a belief that doesn’t work for you.
Whats the best way to find a Bitcoin job as a software developer?
Well, i had both: days where I am focused af working on one thing. And days were I distract myself just the whole time and don’t get anything done.
Comparing these days I noticed a few things:
1. How I start the day. When I do my morning routine (which includes cold showering and meditation), I can be super focused. Otherwise when I just chill in my bed in the morning watching some YouTube videos and then start my day, I am not.
2. Where I have my phone. When it is right there on the table, I grab it almost automatically all the time. Just a bad habit. When I place it in another room - or even behind my laptop where I cannot see it - I just don’t use it. It makes a lot of difference for me!
3. How much stress I make myself. On days where I stress myself, because I need to do something what I really have to finish that day, then I am less productive ironically. When I get myself to take it easy and forget about the deadline and be in the flow, it just works better. And because I am not that productive when I am stressed, I am even more stressed because I am unproductive. Its a death spiral.
Today is my last day in a 9 to 5 job. From now on I work as a freelancer. With a lot of headache I got my first project for the next 2.5 months.
Not easy to get in there but I feel it’s the right way for me. I would regret to not even have tried it when I am old and close to death.
