I want to leave the world better than I found it. Bitcoin and Nostr are a step in the right direction. 🇿🇦⛰️🥾 EST: 837 680

Works with the bitcoin standard too... I was today years old when I learnt this🤦‍♂️

I was initially an android only guy, then upgraded to apple because it seemed more secure and a better long term product (Software and hardware wise).

But now I want to do a Graphene/Calyx or other open source type setup phone. The leap from iphone to there is a bit big though... so havent done yet.

Basically, im stuck in the middle currently

Android < IOS < Open source secure Android

My 2 cents

“So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.”

If we can use p2pk locks with ecash when both sender and receiver are offline... that would be ground breaking!

So I am very eager to know more. Currently I can't do it on chasu.me, but I assume there's a technical limitation that I don't fully understand yet. So want to understand more.

Tap-to-pay with CashuBTC ecash — for bitcoin.

Fiat credit cards nailed the UX: fast, offline, works anywhere.

I always wanted that for Bitcoin.

Now it’s open-source. Private. Instant. Beep, done.

In the video: two Cashu wallets for bitcoin.

Left: nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t09uqzpveml85hk78n2622qtnthmuwwuzexuly9v9gtf3lykjsa076magdkt6tav (PoS)

Right: cashu.me (payer)

Ecash is sent directly via NFC — no internet, no delay. Beep, boop.

Ecash is a bearer token — the money lives on your device, not on a server. That’s why it pairs so well with NFC. Pick an amount, tap to send. No talking to servers. No syncing. Just push it over. The payment is pretty much instant. A PoS can accept ecash from any mint and receive payments via Lightning.

Still early days, but we’re experimenting. Card-to-phone works, but phone-to-phone? That’s the real killer use case.

Apple famously locks down the iPhone’s NFC chip — good monopolist.

F*k that. I found a workaround.

As long as one phone (ideally the PoS) is Android, you can send data both ways between iPhone and Android.

(You don’t really own your iPhone.)

Peace!

Calle I want to learn more about using ecash offline. Can you point me in the right direction to some resources?

Thats a great, point, I haven't even thought of it. There probably was some sort of proposal out but, it just didn't win. And now they are so different, with all the technical directions each have taken... probably too far apart to realistically do it anymore. That would be very cool though.

If I could choose to just use signal for everyone, even if they were on different apps.

I like that I have a choice to accept or decline a failed zap... 😂

OK... after a lot of trial and error I seem to have come right. Definitely was a problem of having both nos2x and ably on at the same time. In some way it wasn't compatible, but I can't quite say how. Any case, crossing fingers that it just keeps going.

Much thanks nostr:nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnjd9nksarzdak8gtnwv46z7qpqkun5628raxpm7usdkj62z2337hr77f3ryrg9cf0vjpyf4jvk9r9sumtqts 🍻

Something seems to go wonky on Primal when I connect Albys extension. suddenly some of my default settings are gone, my default zap amounts are reverted... and zaps still dont work.

Is there any chance that Nos2x and Alby dont play well together? currently nos2x is holding my private key

No errors come up... it just shows that I have zapped, but if I refresh page it is gone, and no transaction has occurred on CoinOS. Busy setting up Alby, hopefully that'll do the trick.

Hey #asknostr, need some help please with #zapping and #nwc

I use my laptop for browsing on primal. For zapping, I have connected a coinOS wallet to my account though nwc, which is running in another tab on the same browser.

But, I often find that when I click ZAP, it just doesn't work. after many refreshes sometimes it works, but other times it still wont. I've tried many combinations of different wallets and even clients, but all seem to suffer the same problem.

I am but a humble small zapper, and want to give value when I get value... so I am asking for advice on what the simplest most reliable way to set up

a lightning wallet on my laptop, so I can always zap others posts. Is it Alby? Or maybe others?

Many thanks in advance 🥂
