Family Man in Houston, Texas

Buc-ees mostly only exist where State Highways intersect an Interstate Highway.

I've run 59 from Texarkana to Corpus Christi. Don't recall ever seeing one.

The first season was the only good season, IMO.

I also dig movies and show set in Louzaner because I was raised there, especially 70's stuff.

No sane person would do that.

The fact you are even considering this means you must seek psychological counseling immediately.

I stopped supporting GAB with free content and "likes" after I saw Torba gift Pro status to MAGATard spam bots. I won't go back.

The Internet was filled with fun, smart people until 2007 when the first iPhone allowed any slobbering retard to get online.

Same with Nostr. The barrier to entry of learning basic key management is just slightly high enough to prevent idiots from flooding in. This results in a MUCH higher signal-to-noise ratio, and overall higher quality content.

It's fun. Get a couple of Baofengs from Amazon. Use Chirp to program in the GMRS frequencies. Set them to 5 watts for talking car-to-car during family trips, and 1 watt to chat around the house.

We love them while camping and biking at state parks.

After you learn the basics, start listening to the HAM repeaters. Then get your ticket so you can chat on them.

Get your HAM license just for fun and buy a $40 Baeofeng. It's easy.

During the Snowpocalypse I was able to find gasoline for my Parents' generator only because I could talk on the local repeaters and see where availability was located.

Houston has many repeaters:

We're gonna vote them out, ...right guys?

lol

Right?

Paul, are you still trying to learn how to profitably run a Lightning node?

I for one applaud our Alien Overlords for reliving me of the burden of having worrying about it.

U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee has provided amazing Science Education like this to her Constituents in Houston, Texas since1985.

I believe things are in a state of flux as security and privacy-minded people re-adjust to the new reality wherein attacks with real-world consequences (like getting thrown in prison on false charges) are no longer theoretical.

In the past, such things mostly only happened to high-profile activists like Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. Now it’s happening to normal, everyday people, just like we predicted for years would happen.

Things are getting “real”. People are adjusting.
