At some point in your life you switch from ‘update software to keep it secure’ to ‘don’t update software it will break everything you do’.

H2O would make great money. It’s durable, divisible, portable, fungible, acceptable,… but is it scarce?

It is limited in supply, I don’t see more of it being made anywhere, so yes, it is scarce. Ah but it is too abundant which ruins the portability argument (it’s not value dense).

So let’s refine the definition of scarcity not just to mean ‘of limited supply’ but to mean ‘cannot be easily manufacturers to meet demand and also not abundant in its existing quantity’.

Debate is often unproductive and frustrating to observe or participate in. Ideally the contentious side would have a wise and neutral party to critique the contentious idea thoroughly. Usually though both sides are contentious and critique the other using their own ideas and since their own ideas are already in contention it is hard to discredit the other or bolster their own.

LLMs are nice to debate with (assuming not biased to engagement and sycophancy) because they can simulate wisdom and neutrality quite well - the diluted ego helps too.

I try, in arguments and debates, not to argue from my ideologies but to critique the opposition's ideas on their own terms as much as possible. Though I rarely achieve that :)

After learning about MMT I’ve now accepted its teachings and have decided to run my household budget using its methods. I won’t be working for money but spending it into existence as a form of investment into the broader economy. If prices start to rise I shall tax it back, okay?
