Wealth for Toil

I can’t help but feel a great sense of gratitude and privilege to use the technology around me. I’m in an excellent mood, I got a text from a friend about a show he’s enjoying. It felt so natural, and now I know he’s in a good mood too, right now.

We really did that, man.

I love humans.

What if every time we think about something, we aren’t remembering it or describing it, but actually creating it in that moment. Like our brain spins up a small simulation of a perfect version of that thing, and for a brief second it exists. It’s like a Platonic ideal coming into being through thought.

And then I started thinking about AI, and how it’s kind of like a physical version of that same process. A real structure that tries to hold and simulate those ideals in material form. But the thing is, Platonic ideals aren’t real. They don’t exist in the world. They’re mental constructs that we project onto reality, and they can’t actually hold up when you try to make them real.

That’s where everything starts to break. Flaws always emerge in anything that tries to be perfect. It’s built into the system. So when we turn those mental simulations into ideologies, when we start believing they are reality, they start pulling the world toward them in this weird retro-causal way. They try to manifest themselves, but because they come from our egos and not from reality itself, they always end up unstable, and dangerous.

Maxed out lore points too early, didn’t put enough into my skill trees and now I’m grinding mid game

Engineer your dopamine.

Get it from creation.

Not consumption.

What are the chances of Satoshi Nakamoto ever posting again?

Bitcoin fundamentally aligns with Australian identity and the Australian vision of the future. Energy. Freedom.

Green and gold 💚💛

I've been thinking about why I find Bitcoin deeply important. Where does the passion I have come from, and why do I, even as a pleb, continue to engage with the network as much as I know how?

I, like many, come from humble beginnings. The worldview that defined my youth was one that deified the state and control, devoid of community and connection.

As I grew, this massive hole in my sense of meaning became more obvious, and Bitcoin bridged that feeling. The emergent behaviour of an immutable, peer-to-peer network is something that philosophically feels right, and every day that feeling is reaffirmed. I see the projects that come from a love of community and true care for the sacred.

I find myself wanting to provide and build layers of connection and meaning. I want people to be able to connect, like a node requesting a peer, and simply click in with a community as a fundamental building block.

I love everyone
