When I look at pictures of the great pyramids in Egypt all I can think about is the tremendous amount of slave labor that would have been required to build those things (the pyramids were originally covered in white *polished!* limestone so it would glimmer in the sunlight). More than half the population would have been slaves to these crazy rulers who thought they were gods on earth. What the world doesnāt realize today is that when 90%+ of the global population is in debt up to their eyeballs with no glimmer of hope to ever pay off their rolling and ever increasing debts, we are living in a very similar situation. One difference between then and now is at least the Egyptian knew they were slaves.
Discussion
When you refer to ā90% of global populationā are you referring to national debt? Or individual debt?
If this was a dumb question I apologize lol
i think the egypt people just found this place, but didnt build it at all.
They call themselves a legacy civilization so Iām right there with you. You donāt build mud brick pyramids next to the great pyramid if you know how to build the great pyramid lol
but i think the point was more about slaves. that people dont see that they are slaves nowadays.
Hence my final point of end fiat slavery regardless lol⦠I just think the pyramid is a bad example. Itās like finding the Hoover damn and saying damn it must have taken a lot of slaves to build that bad boy š
if the build it for fiat they are slaves to begin with in prestons logic
𤣠thank you. Yes that is the point.
I see someone else has also been listening to Graham Hancock!
I donāt buy for a second they did it with slave labor. Look into the machining marks left in the granite. They were using mechanical leverage/ industrial processes. The cutting marks prove that. Regardless moving over 2 million tons of stone even with heavy machinery would have likely taken 100s of years to build. They werenāt temples or tombs, they had some sort of function I canāt begin to understand but regardless there was more going on there than egotistical rulers and slave laborā¦
Either way we should still end fiat slavery š
We know so little about our history. Forbidden archaeology is an interesting topic. There are multiple ancient sites where laser tech or other modern machinery was used to cut stones with absolute perfection. Hard to verify but Iām open to the idea that there were other advanced civilizations before us. Maybe the pyramids are 25.000 years old and made by Atlanteans.
What up my advanced machining brother. Weāll pyramidpill Preston yet.
Look up The Land of Chem on YouTube, very compelling and well-developed theory on the pyramids as chemical plants. The Red pyramid at Dashur is the most developed, with every architectural feature included and even telltale chemical residues found on the walls in the different reaction stage chambers, in line with predictions from the chemical process as we use it today.
Unfortunately the guy is annoying as a presenter and is shilling his fiction book based on the theory, wish heād focus on the excellent research heās doing.
Iām more in line with some form of power generation/ collection. Either way they definitely had a function in my eyes. You donāt go to that length to build something to stick a dead guy in lol.
A co-worker of mine has gone through 8 vehicles in the last 5 years. None were wrecked, just traded in for the next one. Iām always imagining the giant ball and chain some of these ppl tow with their car notes. š¤¦āāļø
Having censorship resistant information protocols like Nostr & Bitcoin allow for that current perception to be changed through the frictionless advancement of the free market of ideas.
And the Pharos were honest that the people were slaves.
I agree with your analogy but I find the pyramids really cool tbh. My favourite part of history. So many cool tunnels and buildings. Historians also say lots of the pyramids couldnāt have been built on slave labour everything is too precise and the āslavesā were apparently well accommodated for the time. Donāt know how much I believe it but clearly the Egyptians took pride in their work with how excellent those pyramids are done.
Facts. The other difference is slaves who built the pyramids can at least boast of their monumental achievement, while modern slaves have very little to show for their toil.
No one knows how those were built. Huge POW. Also, 2000k yrs ishā¦.at least there was something to showā¦now we r just keeping unelected sovereign global states afloat who donāt make anything but policies to extract wealth
A change is needed for sure: š š£š¤
Or it was actually built ~12k years ago when there existed a far more advanced race.
Modern day Egyptians have experienced two recent and massive currency devaluations. Rulers still at itā¦
I've been to the pyramids and was inside the second pyramid. They weren't built by slaves. That's just stories. They are expertly built by well treated people
Perhaps(?) that image of slavery is incorrect; slaves ā non expert. Some slaves could also be well treated.
That's what looking at an F-35 should feel like
āBout to blow your mind.
They werenāt built by slaves, most likely the brute labour was local farmers with little to do during the flood season. They were treated well. A lot is highly skilled craftsmanship.
They were masters with specialist tools which weāve barely begun to scratch the surface of, these monuments are not dumb piles of rocks.
The proof is in the work: you see signatures of extremely thin saw blades with FAST feed rates, so fast they overcut by INCHES - by hand that would be a whole dayās sawing. You see very high torque/low speed drilling, extremely precise surface and angle work, complex joinery. Painstakingly shaping very hard stones to mate perfectly to the naturally weathered surfaces of softer stones - completely ass-backwards, at least to us with our techniques.
Interior chamber layouts demonstrate complex knowledge of acoustics, possibly industrial chemistry and metallurgy.
This is not done by hand tools made from copper by simple people and itās all probably MUCH older than ~4500 years.
On some artefacts we see levels of precision close to modern CNC. For some of the biggest objects like the Unfinished Obelisk there is no organically occurring material that could be woven into rope strong enough to pull it. You need steel cables.
Yet these guys made and shipped these things 500 miles like it was nothing. Not to mention hauling them up out of the quarry beds in the first place. To do it today weād need several of our largest strongest mobile cranes - think of the many complex layers of industry that exists to produce those cranes.
There is SO much more to Egypt than the narrative pushed in the history books. Proof of work all the way down.
Wow #[1] you're going deep today! ( I think your the reason why I went deep in my last note too by the way š )
But I like the analogy, however harsh it is...
This is actually quite contested.
Its thought that the ones building the pyramids were actually the favoured ones besides god kings. Nobility and pride came with building and ascented you into the favour of the Gods
If you believe that theory
amen brotha
From what I remember, Iām pretty sure slave labour wasnāt involved in the construction of the pyramids š¤
āAll life is slaveryā ā Seneca
(ā¦taken veeeeery far out of contextš)
And at least they had cool pyramids to look at and be outside. Now we are all sedentary slaves stressed out in cubicals glued to screens.
I often wonder what future civilizations will think about things like the Great Wall and how theyād rationalize why it exists and what purpose it served.
Sad, but true. I think more and more folks are accepting that they are slaves... eventually there will be a revolt of the slaves.
Depends what type of technology they used. If all manual labor, which seems impossible, then yes. I know this wasnāt the point of the post but I cant help myself.
This is a cool analogy, but thereās been a lot of evidence to suggest the common story about the pyramids simply isnāt true. There was never a lot of evidence to suggest it was built by slaves, and they recently uncovered evidence of how organizers kept track of everyone involved in its construction and around feeding and housing them during the work. Apparently a large village was built nearby specifically for all of the workers.
They uncovered things in the late 2000s showing they they had high quality bread jars for feeding everyone and that they got the prime cut of meats before others had their fill and for all the slaves of the day they never wouldāve been treated that well.
Granted I know very little about it all, but I just read that on a āpyramids kickā one day and it stuck with me.
Read the same
Debt is not the issue - the issue is paying it back *spoiler alert - itās not going to get paid back.
At least they got pyramids out of it
and at least they built cool shit
The pyramids were built by aliens. Itās physically impossible for humans to have built them in the time frame historians claim they were built in. The logistical donāt line up unless they had technology we have yet to discover.
Debt is like misinformation ā the little guy surely has some of it, but the ruling class is the one up to its eyeballs in it with no way to walk it back. I get that they *think* of themselves as modern-day Pharaohs, but if they try to enslave people it will only be because they are terrified what will happen if enough remain free.
So many people don't even realize they need a 10+% pay raise. People cant even be bothered to join a union/strike, suckers are walking right in.
Investor class getting rich on cheap money and working class is here to rebalance the books in their favor. It will take hardship before they find out they have been duped.
Their god-kings did a great job projecting power through the ābeliefā of power through the gods of Egypt.
Our society today has so many god-kings and so many of them, like you say Preston, we are completely oblivious to.
People get so afraid of real word power projection and have trouble manipulating their own mind to consider the implications of a bearer asset with true scarcity.
i am here on nostr for a couple of weeks now and i ahve to say this post contains by far the most bullshit i have seen so far. not even close
The great pyramid might not be built by the Egyptian but more likely by an ancient civilization with advanced technology. The Egyptian might just reuse a lot of the previous legacy.
Thoughtful and insightful. Well done!
As for the Pyramids, there is nothing to wonder at in them so much as the fact that so many men could be found degraded enough to spend their lives constructing a tomb for some ambitious booby, whom it would have been wiser and manlier to have drowned in the Nile, and then given his body to the dogs.
-HD Thoreau
Valid point Preston. Although recently I have been going down the rabbit hole and found out that pyramids were built by advanced civilizations using advanced technologies. Possibly the Atlantans or Extraterrestrial. Interesting series to watch would be āAncient apocalypseā made by Graham Hancock.
š„
Preston on fire š„
At least they knew they were building something monumental, us fiat slaves are just consuming plastic
minds are constantly breaking free, like digital Hebrews out of Egypt.
Preston, kind of related question. Do you think all those senators like Elizabeth Warren slashing bitcoin are plain evil or just ignorant?
How do you know they were poorly treated?
Serious question, cuz this is apparently a common misconception
