Did you use bitcoin to buy your home? I was thinking about using it as long term savings to fully pay for a home without needing a mortgage. My slight concern is liquidity when needing to sell the bitcoin at the time of buying when using coinjoined sats.

As to your comment about coming full circle, I feel like I didn’t appreciate the specialness of bitcoin as property until recently. You need my private key to take sats from me. Meanwhile, the government can take my home due to imminent domain or if I don’t continue paying property taxes, which could be seen as paying rent to the government.

I love this picture! It’s a very concise way to explain what’s broken about the fiat flexible ledger system.

Honestly that’s why I like dollar cost averaging as a concept. You don’t even think about trying to time the bottom. Since I focus on P2P exchanges, I’m unfortunately not able to automate the process but it’s worth it to have non KYC sats.

Been recently thinking about threat modeling. I’m guilty for opting for the newest tool that promises stronger security and privacy without deeply thinking through whether it’s necessary or even helpful to my specific circumstances. I’m hoping this article on threat modeling will help me start making better decisions.

Anyone have any experience with using Habla, Yakihonne, or Blogstack for long-form blogs?

I’m curious how they compare and people’s recommendations.

Thanks for posting this here. I didn't know about this and now plan to attend.

Looks like there is through Voltage toolkit. Shout out to @bitcoinpark for posting the talk on Voltage + Nostr from Nostrville2023. Now to see if I can use Mutiny with Voltage toolkit.

Here is a YT video from Voltage proving a tutorial for toolkit.

Anyone know if any bitcoin or nostr projects that use either Rust, Clojure, or Haskell? Looking to find a project that will enable to to learn one of these languages and contribute to a project in this ecosystem.

Broad is nice. It’s buttery smooth. Unfortunately, I’ve opted for extra fine both for writing Japanese and to be able to write on normal paper when having to fill out forms. I will say that the Lamy 2000 extra fine nib is buttery smooth. I also like the Pilot custom 823 fine nib’s writing experience. It has more feedback but is still pretty smooth.

If you plan on doing soldering, you may experience some difficulties but I wouldn’t let that deter you; there are some things you can do to mitigate any issues.

I would recommend getting a solder sucker and soldering wick. They will enable you to effectively undo soldering mistakes. It may also be useful to get thinner solder so you have more control over how much you put down. A multimeter is useful for checking current flow through soldered joints so it’s a useful debugging tool. I would also start with a cheap kit and if you can afford it get a second backup kit. I have personally screwed up a keyboard kit before and had to buy another. An alternative to buying a backup keyboard kit is to buy a cheap practice kit to try before working on the keyboard.

Good luck on your keyboard building adventure and have fun!

II recently bought the ZSA voyager keyboard and I’m enjoying using it. Coming from a background of using small keyboard layouts, I was concerned about how difficult it would be to use the number row and whether there were too few thumb keys. However, after using the keyboard, I found it to be comfortable to use. The number row has been useful and due to the number of keys, I don’t feel the need to have more thumb keys.
