On building an everything protocol: https://newsletter.squishy.computer/p/the-zombocom-problem

Squishy Computer is great. Gordon Brander is a great writer, with tons of knowledge about networks. I've been binging his blog since his nostr article came out a few days ago.

I binged his blog and content earlier in the year. Agree with you for sure, he's a very intelligent engineer. Noosphere looked interesting, but seems like it went from established seed funding to sunsetting within a year? I was perusing his GitHub for a while. Subtex(t?) was a particularly interesting feature of Noosphere to me. I tried writing a Subtex interpreter in Rust which kind of worked, as a hobby project. Needed to make it work better to actually use it. Curious if Nostr will reach to do something similar in time. Might also just try to send it myself one day. I think a lot of people trying to solve the "personal note-taking and list-making" platforms often end up in the knowledge graph bucket. I am thinking lots of users don't need knowledge graphs as much as they need an interoperable language such as Subtex, with a really great application, such as a slimmed-down LogSeq, to integrate with both their personal notes, and the personal notes of other Nostr users.

As much as I love reactions, there are certainly communities where this might be preferable! All about target demographics and flexible optimization imo

I think reactions beg the question of how many types of events can receive them, and from there clients must decide when to allow or disallow them. Reactions are really only situationally valuable. Most people don't want 6 alerts for 6 likes, I'd imagine. Hope to see reactions become separated and scrutinized in future client builds

I like them personally, that is my steelman 😮‍💨🫶😂👏

Clients should allow users to disable them if desired. No harm no foul

When I was researching this earlier in the year I discovered Xanadu 🤣 I think the concept of transclusion isn't vaporware but using OpenXanadu is kind of a meme

One feed* just doesn't make any sense

Look at reddit- the most common alternate accounts are either throwaways or novelty accounts. Nostr has plenty of both. These don't serve the purpose of splitting interests as much as specifying a "role" or "personality," or maintaining privacy. Look at nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75sprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0y8qdrm - He has two accounts. One is personal about climbing and the other represents the "developer/influencer Pablo".

Is this beneficial for him as a user? Probably

Is it ideal? I would argue not for me, and likely not for others. Can't speak for Pablo but I think Nostr can offer more flexibility that would defeat this inherently bastardized, single-feed structure.

Nostr says "discovery is a manual feature" and to that I say "feeds are the garbage can for discovery". I leverage my feed to discover often, so it is not inherently a problem of feeds themselves. The problem is single-feed silos.

So we can manually segregate feeds with a tool like Listr which integrates with Amethyst.

But this process is pretty much the same as it was 3 years ago. Unless another client is offering better list curation. I haven't seen anything change in this regard. There is a bounty out for CRUD lists in amethyst and I really hope someone can pick up that lead. Not here to complain, just my two cents.

The resolution would be native list management in my eyes. Splitting the user between tools does not feel intuitive with an app like amethyst. Just about everything else is miles ahead.

Our feeds should be able to designate their own relays in my opinion. Let us filter by relay first, then by users, then by content.

Yeah I feel kind of fucked without it. A lot of my personal notes took a massive hit. Plenty of info is only available through IA. It seems Wayback Machine is back in read-only mode for now, last I checked. I use that function most, so here's hoping.

I won't pretend we're all cut from the same cloth.

I won't pretend to know what's going on in all places, at all times.

I won't fake kindness.

I won't hold back my opinions, or truths.

I will disagree with you, often, whether I like you or not. Whether I know you, or not. Whether I'm right, or not.

This is how we grow.

Be organic and be proud to simply be you.

Be kind. 🫶

You're worth it.

The Internet Archive / Wayback Machine has been Pwned.

We're live.

We're exclusive.

We're here for fucking RuneScape. 💯

And upon making this post I realized I wasn't even subscribed to my own relay. 🤣

Welcome aboard,

Feel free to invite any OSRS players to the relay!

However- This relay uses NIP-42 auth. Npubs must be manually added to the whitelist to be able to post.

Feel free to post an npub here and they will be added!

Happy questing!

There are lots more videos about this now, but this was the first I saw.

Maybe not directly responsible for the OP photo- but highly relevant!
