Hmmm... my experience made me reach a very different conclusion.
During my migration phase when I was using both Windows and Linux on 2 computers simultaneously, I noticed that when Windows and fancy proprietary apps did not work as expected, I thought I was doing something wrong and needed to learn how to use the software... but when the same thing would happen on #Linux and community developed software, I blamed poorly coded and designed software.
I only noticed my double standards after a few months and then realised that Windows was quite buggy and poorly designed but many people just accept it and don't blame Microsoft. I've had my Windows install corrupted with no recourse but to buy a new version simply by doing what should have been a simple factory reset.
So no, I think #FOSS is no different to proprietary software in this regard. In fact, a comparison may not be even fair unless the #opensource app is sustained by user payments and purchases.
However, monetisation of FOSS apps is rare and very few developers outright sell their apps which needs to change for the FOSS ecosystem to catch up to so-called industry-standard solutions in certain areas. Perhaps if #Flathub integrates payments for #Flatpak apps, it will make things better...

There's a mindmap maker called Mindr I think on #Flathub... but I like #Logseq and #Joplin with a mindmap plugin that just converts heirarchical notes/lists into a #mindmap.

Looks beautiful but my experience with Zorin has been the opposite... always had graphics issues. Old base and old kernel for new hardware.
Obviously we prefer Session, SimpleX, & XMPP over Signal. Signal still requires a number to register and is completely centralized to Amazon's AWS. This being said, it's 1000 times better than SMS or WhatsApp groups. So to celebrate Signal's new usernames feature to hide the number from group members, we now have a Signal Group:
