It was the lockdowns that orange pulled me. Let’s pretend it’s like 2020 or 2021

Somewhere in there i had months of paid time off

Covid pay, sick pay, at one point I was actually making more money from unemployment plus other benefits than I would have been making at work.

Point is I had time. Time to think, research, explore ( without leaving the house much)

So I had always been listening to like 401k Ted talks and podcast/ radio shows… dreaming and planning on retirement one day. Just thinking maybe I’ll be able to buy a house and just live live.

I didn’t really even know what the problem was.

I knew nothing about fiat, or our fractional reserve Ponzi scheme. A was looking for the highest returns I could possibly get.

I’d be drinking canned light beer in an old hoopty ( what I call junk cars )

I love hoopties. Anyways I vividly remember actually googling what investments/assets have the highest roí . Return on investment.

I got a list of like the top 10, and I was shocked. Primarily because I remember hearing that like 8% or 10 % was pretty damn good. Like the s&p500…. So hear I was thinking that 8% was decent. And here comes ole Cathy.

That’s right Ark ETF. I remembered seeing like 100% returns ytd. I was like ok Gotta go down this rabbit whole.

So her whole thing was about disrupting technology. Things that change the game. Its was like AI, gene sequencing with dna, blockchain, it was like all the new futuristic stuff replacing the old world. So blockchain led me to bit boy crypto. Downloaded coinbase, and shitcoined a lil. Not much just playing with 20 bucks here or there. So I never really got burned.

I had also heard Cathy wood mentioning cash app and how easy it is now.

I remember first time I downloaded it, I put like 100 bucks in bitcoin, went to lunch, spent like 15 bucks out of that bitcoin so it was down to like 85… cuz I had just gotten lunch. Then like an hour later it was back up over 100 bucks….

I was sitting there like damn my lil inch was free. I just got back the money I spent on lunch. Then it just kept going up. I was like this is a cheat code.

So I started putting everything I had in there like yolo. And with all my money in bitcoin I started down the rabbit whole.

This was way before I got a signing device or knew anything about self custody.

I guess the point if this story is how did I first enter the bitcoin rabbit hole..

It was Cathy woods 100% returns on her ETFs

Then I broke down why her etf specifically was doing so good.
