Is there a more privacy friendly way to achieve changing public keys then sharing your xpub?

Example:

I am buying Bitcoin from a broker and instead of changing my BTC address everytime, I would like to have it automatically pick a new one each time. I have seen some brokers accept xpub, but this means they know ALL of my pub keys which is a privacy problem imo.

Ideal would be something like a partial xpub, where I can decide how many pub keys are being shared.

I didn’t expect that joining Nostr would lead to me spending the last 3 days with barely any sleep, just trying to get my Bitcoin Lightning node working through BTCPay Server 😅

I finally managed to open a channel, but most nodes require a minimum of 500,000 or even 1,000,000 sats to connect — and I don’t have that kind of stack (yet)...

I’m looking for a node I can join with a lower sat requirement so I can have a fully working Lightning address and be able to zap and receive zaps on my domain like the rest of you legends ⚡

I’m also running a full Bitcoin node to support the network — just trying to do it right from the ground up.

Any help or zaps are seriously appreciated 🙏

What many people don't get is that "custodial vs. non-custodial" is NOT about how secure the Bitcoin is that's held by the custodian. It doesn't matter. Think like an autist or a mathematician:

Do you control your Bitcoin, yes or no?

It's not about "how easy can someone collude to steal your Bitcoin that you don't control" or "does the code run in an HSM" or "theft would be detectable". All these things don't matter for this question. They're interesting but that's not the point. You're thinking about the wrong categories, namely *security*, not *custody*.

Words have meaning. Unilateral exit is a necessary condition.

really depends on what they're going for if they just want to completely shut down the networks then they would mine empty blocks and only collect the reward for mining the blocks which would be 0.6 Monero or 3.125 Bitcoin. They can't leave the Monero network running normally to collect fees since they can't filter transactions. But they could leave the Bitcoin network running and filter out specific transactions that they don't like and collect the fees for the transactions they allow plus the mining reward.

Less damaging for the users. With Bitcoin, colluders can filter out specific transactions and say, no, we're not going to allow those transactions. In Monero, they cannot do that. They can put through their own transactions, they can stop the rest of the network, or they can let the network continue as normal, but they cannot filter specific transactions.

So I was just reading an article about the Nakamoto coefficient, and it mentioned that #Bitcoin's Nakamoto coefficient is two, since two mining pools are able to collude and gain 51% of the hash rate. Measuring #Monero in that same way shows it also has a Nakamoto coefficient of 2, but it seems like a 51% attack in Monero would be less damaging than a 51% attack in Bitcoin since the mining pools would have to either stop all transactions or continue to allow all transactions through since they can't filter out specific transactions.

It’s funny how the economy tends to perform better under Democrats than Republicans over the last few decades. GDP growth, job creation, and stock market returns have historically been stronger under Dem administrations. Why? A mix of policies that boost consumer demand, infrastructure investment, and sometimes just better timing in economic cycles. Meanwhile, Republicans often push tax cuts for the wealthy and deregulation, which don’t always translate to broad growth.

Then there’s Trump’s tariffs…Austrian economists argue they distort markets, hurt consumers, and lead to inefficiencies. Instead of protecting domestic industries, tariffs raise prices, disrupt supply chains, and invite retaliation. Free markets allocate resources better than government-imposed trade barriers.

And here’s the thing, #Bitcoin fixes this. No more central planners trying to manipulate trade, interest rates, or the money supply. Just pure, permissionless, sound money that operates on a free market. Hard to play political games when the rules of the system can’t be changed.
